If it is, TCU (5th largest market), Houston (10th), USF (13th), and UCF (19th) would be major players in the expansion talks and they aren't. You have to be two things: TV market and name program. Those schools do provide TV, but they aren't name brands. And in fact every one of those schools play second (or third or fourth) fiddle to another school. TCU and Houston - behind Texas and A&M USF and UCF - behind Florida and Florida State If you can get the TV market from a bigger name, why take the lesser program?

When looking at the ACC, they'll look at USF and UCF and say "We already have Florida State and Miami, why would we need more schools in Florida." USF and UCF's academics are a big stumbling block to ACC admission, same problem goes for Louisville or WVU.
September 20, 201115 yr I like Va Tech to SEC Can't see it. The VA legislature stuck its neck out big time to get them into the ACC. They would be burning a lot of bridges if they made that move...

Kind of makes it seem like the SEC might have something else up their sleeve. Missouri seems very likely now, but could there be a swing through ACC country to make a couple grabs? Would Texas be in play? Oklahoma? Just too many possibilities!

By looking at this, you can see that UC and UL are not particularly attractive schools for the Big 4 conferences.
