Wow, it looks like WVU to the Big 12 regardless of what Mizzu does. Not sure what to think about this as a WVU fan, but can't wait to go to Norman, or Austin. Not sure how we will do and what this will do to recruiting, but it has to be better than playing in the Big East in football. Wish UL and Cinny was going with us.

Moving from the Big East will help your boys in Basketball, but in football leaving the Big LEast for the Big 12 might be too big a bite to take for the Mountaineers. Good Luck!!!

What confusing to me is why the Big 12 didn't invite UL if the eventually want to get to 12 teams? Because if WVU has to wait 27 months and then the invite UL 6 months later now UL waits additional 27 months. Makes no sense.

I understand that, but unless the BEast can make some type of move to secure themselves they might as well hold on as long as possible to at least sell tickets to Basketball games.

Once the BE is dead there is no 27 month waiting period. Best way to kill it is to cut off the head, and that is WVU football at this point...

What will be interesting from here is if the ACC makes the move to 16 with the BEast all but dead. BC is using everything in its power to block UConn, so their next move is going to put most of the chips on the table...

I've somewhat lost track of all the coming and goings. Has Missouri made a decision as to what they are going to do? Can't really see the SEC being happy with 13 or the Big 12 with 11.

Jumper Dad, the new Coach we have has ties to TX and OK which will enable WVU to recruit with those teams. I think in a few recruiting classes, if we can hang on to Holgersen, we will compete in football as well as Basketball. However, with Mitch involved now, looks like WVU to Big 12 is on hold. I don't know why WVU didn't tell the Big 12 we will come, but you need to invite UL and UC and put the league to 12 teams and have a Championship game again..

Something has to happen relatively soon.

 

Both the SEC and the Big 12 are at 9 and 13 teams meaning unbalanced schedules, which becomes problematic for both. Getting a conference championship for the SEC and Big 12 having to pay buckoo money for an extra non-con game.

Money from a network is a problem for the Big 12. Money is better for everyone in the Big 12 with 10 teams.

 

The Big East would rather lose Louisville than West Virginia.

Louisville was on the outside looking in before; we're on the outside looking in again. Not too long ago, the school had a serious discussion (a discussion a lot of urban schools were having at the time) about cutting football completely. It's amazing how fast a lot of Louisville fans got it in their heads that we're somehow entitled to something.

 

I've been trying to drum up some sort of rage or depression about this, but I just can't find it. Yes, WVU and only WVU is getting a Big XII invite. But given the state of the Big XII and what I would imagine is the desire of the ACC, SEC and Pac 12 to continue their own expansions, this nonsense is far from over. I still in my heart believe that if Louisville wants into the Big XII, it will happen eventually, if only because 10-11 teams is not much of a permanent option for that conference going forward, especially if the Pac 12 and SEC continue to poach.
