September 22, 201114 yr Been listening to Satelite radio discussing the Big 12. Reports out of Big 12 Mizzu is staying put. TCU and BYU will be the number one targets of the Big 12. The Conference wants to stay at 12. Also said that Oklahoma could be intrested in the Big 10 because Texas runs the conference and doesn't plan on giving up any of the money or power.

BYU is correct, but TCU is not. Texas will go to great lengths to keep them out and Oklahoma, who wanted them in, is in a position of little power now that the Pac 12 has turned them down. I could see Oklahoma bolting to the Big 10 after this 5 year or whatever stretch of cease fire is negotiated. One big plus with UC and UL is the new commish of the league is very familiar and has worked with both schools in numerous ways over the past two decades. I still think they are both in good position to get an invite if the league goes to 12, and close to a lock if it is 14...

September 22, 201114 yr Texas really doesnt have a whole lot of bargaining power right now or at least as much as those arrogant people down there in Austin would like to think. Pac12 said no and the ACC is not a super appealing option either. Think the Big 10 would talk to them but not sure what they would be able to work out with the Longhorn Network and probably wouldnt give Texas what they want. I would really like Oklahoma in the Big 10 personally. Looks like Dan Beebe is out as the commissioner of the Big 12 and he was nothing but a front man for Texas the whole time anyhow. He was terrible and they might have been able to keep Nebraska (cant speak for CU) if he didnt cater to UT so much. OU knows what he is all about and thats why they wanted him out as part of this whole deal. Good for them.

There were some rumblings a few days ago that BYU might slow play things to make sure everything was stable, but since the Pac 12 said no everything I have heard is that BYU would be in next and then they would decide if it is 12 or 14 next. I guess it is possible, but everything I have heard is the exact opposite...

September 23, 201114 yr Word I am getting is that UL and BYU could be headed to the Big 12 by as early as next week...
