I feel bad for Pendleton too...KHSAA goes on a 2 year enrollment window and I think I heard no exceptions were given? Dale will not play score 100 on them...another sad thing is Pendleton plays CCH on homecoming and the Birds on senior night or vice versa. OUCH!

I DVR'd the game and watched last night after returning home and one player that has yet to be mentioned on here is Junior WR Luke Turner. He only had 5 catches and 124 yrds receiving and made a couple outstanding catches where he had to actually use his hands. That bomb he caught where he got turned around and came down with it right before the half was a thing of beauty. One thing I am not seeing this year that we saw a lot last year is the Bird receivers dropping balls.

 

Towles has such a nice arm and loves to throw those deep balls but he also showed he can throw the intermediate routes last night. I recall a few timing patterns where Turner and Sheehan sat down and made nice catches for great gains. The Birds offense is a lot of fun to watch.

 

Kudos also to the Offensive line, they gave Towles all the time he needed and it did not go unnoticed. Scott Turner, once again has waived his magic wand and developed some very nice offensive lineman.

Indeed we should. And we should have pictures of the regional championship trophies that they've won through the years in basketball placed in the thread at various spots. Surely there was one or two.:ohbrother:

The homecoming thing is just bad scheduling. Senior night is just the chips falling where they may. Pendleton's the new kid on the block and eventually they'll need to take their lumps. Lots of upside to the program, though. That area is going to grow like crazy in the next 20 years.

Don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. When was the last time you think Dale tried to run up the score? You do realize the 2's were in half way through the third quarter last night, don't you? Why would he do something like that to Pendleton when he hasn't shown a desire to do it to others?

 

:thumb: Absolutely correct 75. Maybe Dale poured it on teams years ago but he has bent over backwards to keep scores down in recent years. Last night is an example of that. He dipped into the bench early and went very deep into it last night. To Spritzky's credit, when he saw Dale going into his bench early in the second half, Spritzky called a time out, pulled his ones and put his backups in there as well. I like that. I can see leaving your ones out there on offense for one more possession, maybe even two if you don't score on that next possession. But it is irritating when a team getting whomped in a sure loss leaves their ones in against the other team's two's for an extended period of time.

My favorite moment of the night came in the few minutes after Colin Seidl scored his second touchdown. The camera guys were all over him. They were in the junior runningback's face repeatedly during his two touchdowns. Never once did he look at the camera. He never hammed it up -- didn't give the #1 sign -- didn't act like an overzealous hot dog. He didn't even look at the camera. You could tell he was uncomfortable with the attention.

 

During that entire sequence, you only heard Colin say two words; if you weren't listening closely, you could've easily missed them. As one of his linemen (think it was Mitchell Meyer) sat down next to him after the touchdown, he said, "Nice block." That's the kind of young man he is, and that's the kind of young men this team strives to develop. Good job, Colin -- on and off the field. :thumb:

Yep, both Seidl boys are solid young men and always great sports. Its a testament to the way they have been raised.

 

I did think Meyer was definitely trying to get some camera time though. LOL He came over after Seidl was being singled out. That is awesome, those lineman definitely deserve some attention.

 

Also nice to see David Christian back on the field and catching touchdown passes like its his job. He went through a major illness just weeks ago and is still not 100%. You take Sheehan, McCoy, Christian, Turner and then throw in Collinsworth when he gets back on the field and you have the best recieving corp in the STATE.

I think it is plain and simple, Dixie needs a whole new coaching staff. Outcoached every week so far. Pike is D1 talent, seems to be very immature. I saw a story about his tweets talking trash to Alabama fans already. Come on kid, we all want to see you do well, Dixie fans or not. Grow up a little, work hard and make NKY proud. You have the natural talent to do it. I also agree that if Pike was the QB for HHS, he would have looked just as good if not better than Towels last night. I watched the UK game on DVR late night and wow, the Cats are going to love having another HHS qb on their team. They really need it!! He will have a chance to touch the field next year for sure. Here is a question: how many points will Dale score on Pendleton?? I feel sorry for Pendleton, being moved to the same district as Cov Cath and HHS. What an awful move by the KHSAA there. Dale will put up 100, just because he can.

 

The Birds were in a similar situation a few years back when Grant Co. was in their district. All the starters took there pads off at half. The JV team played the second half, and I don't remember Highlands coming close to 100. The bolded statement is entirely off base.

Towles is a better QB than Pike. Pike might be a better athlete, but his attitude hold him back. He is not an SEC QB! Dixie's defense is awful right now. If they don't fix it, it will be a long year for Dixie. If Pike doesn't start leading this team, they will have a dismal year

According to the KHSAA last nights game was the most yards ever by a HHS team.
