I have said for the last few years when Pike was blowing up on here, his size/athleticism got him the big boost in ranking. He has a lot of work to do in order to become a great QB, but he does have the upside. He just isn't super polished, Towels is polished.

 

How about the young QB for Highlands, he looks to be yet another good one. He has a nice arm, mobile and very poised for a pup. I would start him varsity for most schools in KY.

Drew Houliston (sp??). He looked good. Has a nice touch on his ball. Had a couple long ones that hit receivers in the hands that were dropped.

 

BTW, what's the word on Hatton? He dressed again, but again did not play.

I'd say this year it wouldn't matter period. Shamrock's own the trophy again this season. But in years past Dixie could have made some noise.

He had some nice rushes to. Plus his passes where perfect! He throws better than most pros!

Towels outplayed everyone in the game. Great kid, great leader who will find success wherever he goes.

 

The defense led by Carter New and The Bruns boys was awesome after the first Dixie score. Brad Rouse stuck a player so hard he dislodged his helmet. New had 2 picks and was excellent at corner. drake Bruns was all over the field and his brother was very disruptive on the D- Line.

 

Dixie is lacking talent, let's face it. Cohorn didn't look 100% and Bruns didn't touch the ball offensively.

 

The Birds youngsters even look dynamite.

I had to leave Ln and Henry's " due to time restraints". Nothing against the Highlands band but Fox Sports moved from 8 minutes left in the 2nd qtr to the half time show of 10 minutes of the band playing. You talk about breaking a party up.

At the Western KY camp at Ryle, I clocked him from the sideline and got a 5.1.... Even if you take off a couple of points that's still awfully slow. He is strong, has good hands, and runs good routes. But I would have to admit speed is not his strength. That being said I like the kid alot and he is a player. He is an excellent HS receiver and he and Pike seem to have good chemistry on the field.

And at that camp you might have clocked him around that number. I know from talking to him recently that he had been working on getting stronger and that he was putting on too much muscle, so he said he backed off the lifting for bulk and started back going more to a speed and agility sessions with Dan Ryan. His speed is pretty good. And he showed it last week against Covcath. Not saying he has the speed of Shehan at Highlands, but he should do really well at the next level. One of the hardest workers in the weight room or on the filed after practice running routs and sprints that I've seen up at Dixie in a long long time.
