I know that Coach B and all others associated with T have the greatest respect for HHS and their program. Kudos to them for agreeing to the "scrimmage."

 

Also, all the kind remarks from the Bird faithful are appreciated. You 'all come down and vist whenever you like. All the best to you this season.

From everything I've heard, Trinity is all that and a bag of chips. Killer schedule but barring something way out of the ordinary they shouldn't lose to a KY squad this season.

You are 100% correct.

Anything besides a decisive win by Trinity would have been a shock, IMO. We know no more or less about either team.

So, what could/can HHS do differently to be more competitive with T?

 

We agree on numbers/depth and that is the only thing HHS is lacking in my opinion.

 

In general terms on quality, I don't buy that argument. I know T ends up with a lot of good high school football players but T isn't a D1 farm as many people like to assume.

I also enjoy going to games at Trinity, and Guru made a very thoughful comment and the first time we agreed on a point in a long time. (D1 farm) I have had this conversation for a long time, why don't more kids go to UK/UL (other D1) from Trinity?

It's simply about the numbers,,,,,,specifically the depth. I played NCAA DII football in Northern Ohio. We had quite a few players from Mentor HS, Ignatius and St. Ed's. Most of these guys started for only one year, but where talented enough to play at a scholarship level in college. That means that you have outstanding high school players working the scout team for two years before their time to shine. That pushes everyone in a program, the extra competition for playing time and outstanding competition when the scout team goes against the first team.

 

That's when the numbers count,,,and you can't discount the importance of this. When size meets talent and depth you now have a program.

Personally I don't think anything Trinity does is "unfair",,,,,there's never a reason to apologize for such a great program
