Is Trinity that good, Highlands that bad, or...

Featured Replies

Trinity's defense also lost Turney Sugg for the year. When will Jackson Noe return to help the receiving corp?

bad xchange on extra point. New had one heck of a one handed interception in first 1/4. Rock DE's abused the young backup tackles. No running game it was lost in the trenches. The good Bruns boys played well the new center did well with snaps and Luke Turner had over 100 yds receiving with receiving corp banged up.

Trinity has Div 1 stud Jr Jason Hatcher who is the Lawrence Taylor of KY HS football so I get it. Awesome to hear Turner had a nice game receiving.

Q

you were right about Dawkins he was the man. Trinity QB is underrated and quick is quick. Trinity is that good. Their D was tough and tackled well. I do feel sorry for Boyle, we get some players back and its been a while since the boys had a gut check.

And yet they still won the scrimmage last year. Trinity still IMO hasn't reached their full potential, but I think this shows just how good they are when they thump a former 5A program that has won 4 straight. It's a definite indication as to why 6A belongs to Trinity.

I just got back from the scrimmage , yes , your hearing from somebody that was actually there . Where to start is the question. Then I'll have some questions of my own.

I have no excuses for my Birds tonight , oh wait I know "they came out flat " . ( Isn't that what I'm suposed to say ? ) Doesn't sound very classy does it . Isn't that the phrase that some people use when their team doesn't perform up to par ?

The Trinity football team is very good . I mean they are very , very good. Any team that takes them lightly will be in for a big surprise. They are "as advertised " great!! Ive seen a lot of high school football teams , watched some on tv in Florida and Georgia , and Trinity has something special going on in the ville. Now my question is , why does Trinity have their entire 1st team offense in the srimmage with the score of 38-6 ? They even had Quick return a kickoff and a punt late in the game. As far as Trinity's D goes , I assume the 1st team was still in the fourth quarter. Finally 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter and T's second team finally gets to play. I won't buy saying they needed more practice or condtioning , mid season form already !!

Highlands had 4 rushing plays in the first half. Even I know one dementional teams are easy to beat. The punt that went ten yards was actually blocked , due to punting out of the endzone with the line of scrimmage being at about the 5 yard line . The Birds didn't look good on offense , but I dont know if it was the O's fault or just great D from T. The D performed good early , then started having problems with T's running backs . Trinity's running backs are fast and can bounce off would be tacklers with ease . If you don't hit them low they aren't going down , unless you gang tackle them . Yards after the first hit on runnig plays , chocked up the most yardage in the game. The running back #1 , sorry can't remember his name , reminded me of the Williams kid that played for Colerain a couple years ago , but # 1 for T looks a lot faster and more elusive than Williams for Colerain.

Other than losing it was a great night for football and in a very nice stadium . There is class written all over T's program , I hope they play well and stay injury free all season.

It was nice to have the Bluebird nation there in big numbers !! Go Birds !!

It's Trinity...... plus some skill players are growing more into the system. Not much you can do unless your X but hope their not on your schedule.

2 starting offensive lineman were out before the game and another hurt during the game..I would say that had something to do with the Birds not being able to move the ball. No excuses just is what it is..Trinity is very very good..

That's a killer when you have 3 new starters anyway. Hopefully they're all back for next week.

As to the question. Yes, T is that good and will be a lot of fun for their fans to watch this year. And next.

The Birds will be fine as always. With their depth and talent the odds of adding more hardware to the case in December are favorable.

Ru, I'd say that Trinity is extremely, extremely good and Highlands, well we have some things to work on and get straightened out before Boyle. The coaches and players know what those items are; no need for me to pile on.

Congrats Rocks. I was very impressed. Beautiful facility. Met some nice T fans. Several Highlands fans commented to me how graciously the fans treated them. Great to see Tony D. Henry's still mad at me for not taking my phone into the stadium.

Is it permissible to use the words "Highlands" and "bad" in the same sentence?

Any KY team playing Trinity this season will look "bad".

HHS is certainly not bad. The Birds will play for hardware in December when the bad teams have moved on to basketball.

Quick question. How good is Highlands up front? Who is going to do the dirty work so thier talented skill position players can do their jobs? Will highlands be able to handle big athletic offensive line? Remember, Championships are won up front.

I'm more interested in their kicking game. Apparently Trinity had great field position all night, blocked punts, and missed xtra points......This is an extremely important part of the game when competition is tight.

I believe Trinity is that good, yes. But don't sell the Bluebirds down the river just yet... it was a scrimage and just a scrimage. I think Highlands will be just fine. We'll see how fine in week 1.

Trinity's O and D lines are big and can move . Highlands lines are just as fast , but a lot smaller .

I don't know who the leader of the D will be , Drake and Devon Bruns played good last night , but it seems like Drake only played about 75% of the time .

The sun was setting in the 1st quarter and was a big factor as Highlands lost the toss ,and had to look into it the whole 1st quarter.

I sat at the scrimmage with my Highlands practice spy , you know the one that wouldn't talk . Well, last night he told me why he didn't say anything. He said " my mom told me if I didn't have anything good to say , don't say nothing at all ! He is back on my payroll and would like to be called "the mole " although the better name for him is coo coo bird.

The Birds will be fine , but still have a lot of work to do . Trinity will make a lot teams look bad.
