This hit really close to home to be tonight as my wife has surgery to try and rid her of cancer tomorrow. I do know that we will bring it for him tomorrow in prayer while we pray for my wife, and with some help from God maybe a cure will be found for this dreaded disease.

While I did not know Matt personally, I was in attendance at the Dixie/CCH game back in February when he and his family were honored at center court. The thing that stands out for me was the emotion shown by his family. If you were there, you could not help but get very emotional yourself. Prayers to Matt and his family during this very difficult time.

Oh wow, I had absolutely no idea this was Coach Bohmer we were talking about. Very sad to hear that this happened. He was a good coach and from what I could tell a great person. I'll be sure to keep Coach Bohmer and his family in my prayers. Rest in peace.

Makes me sick....I hate that disease....

I have to apologize. My family has had numerous battles with cancer (my mother in law breast cancer), my mom has been battling breast cancer in her spine, hip and femur for the last nine years.....I just looked through his Facebook page, and completely lost it. I feel devastated and I didn't even really know him. Please God find a cure for this horrific disease. RIP, Matt.

To Matt and his family may he rest in peace and may God bless you all. He was a wonderfull young man and a great person to talk with about anything. I was shocked and can not beleive we lost such a loving person. JD

Didn't know, or converse here on BGP with Matt (Wildcat), but it saddens me deeply to hear this news. My prayers that he now knows true joy and peace with God. Prayers also to his family and friends.

Dang shame. Matt was a great man. I feel blessed and honored that I was able to befriend him years ago and I thank Rob for making that happen. He was also a heck of a darn good coach. Just a dang shame.

 

Pray for his family and hug your loved ones every chance you get.

Matt was such a great guy with a huge heart. He was a few yes older than me but I competed against him in baseball and basketball. He was a tremendous athlete who displayed great sportsmanship and fierce competitiveness. We got to know each other better at NKU, we both were English/Edu majors and had some courses together. He always had a smile on his face and was a great student. I knew he would be a fantastic coach/teacher and that is obviously what he became. His influence in the classroom and on the playing field was huge. All you have to do is read his Facebook page and you become that much more of a Matt Bohmer fan. The last time I really spent any time with him was a few years ago at the Highlands/Covcath playoff game in Park Hills. The Guru and Matt stood next to me and we caught up and it was really good to see him and know how well he was doing.

 

He was a great father who will never be forgotten by his friends, family and anyone who had a chance to ever meet him. RIP Matt !

Impressive man, touched so many lives and hearts! Sad to lose someone so good, we all need to try harder to replace his positive energy now that he is gone.

I met Matt because our boys were classmates this year. I was fortunate to win my battle with leukemia, the family was so strong through this dreaded disease. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

This is a very sad time. I saw Matt maybe a handful of times at Highlands games , and I must say he always had a smile and you felt like you were instantly his friend. I will miss him at after the game parties. There will always be a hanky panky and beer for Matt at the house after the games. God Bless Matt and his family. We have lost a good man but he will never be forgotten.
