May 8, 201115 yr Any lineup consisting of Teague, Lamb, Liggins/Miller/Gilchrist, Jones, Davis with at least two of the aforementioned guys plus Wiltjer, Vargas, and perhaps one other guy seems pretty scary. Is Jones/Gilchrist/Davis the scariest forward/center group next year? Or does Zeller/Henson/Barnes outrank them? UNC vs. UK is going to be a nasty nasty game. UNC has the most experience to begin the season but UK has the most talent. By the end of next season (tournament time) talent will outrank experience. UNC's front line won't get many easy shots against the long arms of Davis, Jones and Gilchrist.

Of course that's just an opinion, like everyone else's. And UNC may be deeper, but if Liggins comes back it will be close. I also think UK will sign Lacey, lose one guard and gain two to replace him. Not bad.

The difference is UK's front line can take UNC's front line outside too, so one of the keys would be getting their guys like Henson in foul trouble again.

May 9, 201115 yr I dunno, if the new guys progress the way they're expected to then I do definitely see Miller coming off of the bench some this season. Unlike years past UK will be deeper at the forward/wing position. Let's not forget that if Liggins comes back Miller will also be competing with him for playing time as well. No way miller comes on the bench...

Of course, he still has work to do on the areas that frustrated fans. Chief among them learning to pass out of the post.

I'm certainly one of those that Jones frustrated from time to time...but I feel like working hard this summer and a stronger offensive post prescence playing along side him will help with some of the things that frustrated me.
May 9, 201115 yr I'm surprised that Jones is returning. I'm glad he is though. It should be an exciting season next year. I'm anxious to see how much Jones improves.
May 9, 201115 yr If Liggins had come back, I'd have rated UK #1 pre-season. But with his departure, I have to reluctantly & with as much kicking & screaming as possible, give that slot to the Heels.
