Boy this just proves why we play the game. Most had the GRC/Eastern winner going all the way. GRC had actually beat Christian TWICE. Great win for Christian County.

I believe this is Christian County's 16th trip to the Sweet 16, will be their 3rd final. No matter what happens in the 2nd semi, we will get a first time state champion for one of the schools. Pretty darn neat.

The only bad thing about the Sweet 16, the format. Seeding would make for a better championship game imo, but how would you do it?

Wow really thought Eastern would win it all. Yes we have played both. Beat Christian Co. by 24 and 14.

 

Really want to give congrats to the Eastern team and coaching staff. Believe me this fan knows how you feel. Really thought you all would win it all. What a great season you all have had. Don't let this one game demise what you all have done all season. The hard work, and just getting out of the 7th region is a true battle. I know you are very dissappointed, but look back and remember all the great moments of a remarkable run this season.

 

To Christian Co...WOW..what a game. You never gave up. With about 2 minutes to go in the game, the radio announcer stated that Christian Co had ZERO turnovers!!!! That is unbelievable. Can't say enought about Hickey. Really hope he gets that offer that he really wants. You are one game away form winning the state title...best of luck and look forward to watching this team put on another show tonight.!!!

Hickey had 22 points and four steals and really a poor shooting day ... 9-26 from the field, 2-8 from 3-point range and 2-8 from the line.

 

Kates was even worse ... 11 points on 2-12 shooting, but he was 6-6 from the line.

And Kates came right back after turning the ball over at midcourt, to score the game winning basket. He came up big at just the right time.

WOW! Thought after yesterday and having seen Eastern play twice that they were going to win it all. But that is why the game is played, just ask U of L.

Can't never tell but still believe Eastern is by far the best team. Just an upset in my opinion.

Eastern by far the best team? They squeaked by in the first round by three and then lost by 3 in the semi's. They are anything but "by far the best team".
