February 22, 201115 yr Not a big fan of their ribs I used to like Walts Hitching Post ribs better. That's what I love most about UK#! fan. The ultimate homer. If the choice were Tavern on the Green in Central Park or the Log Cabin Inn on 3L Highway, I know he would go with the latter. :thumb::clap:
February 22, 201115 yr I plan on going either tomorrow or Thursday. I hear they plan on closing the boathouse, and possibly open a new location. Not a big fan of their ribs I used to like Walts Hitching Post ribs better.They should be back soon under new management, Someone from the Walton area was very close to buying it last month, and the for sale sign is now down.
February 22, 201115 yr I've never much cared for Montgomery Inn ribs. There's a place in Gatlinburg that have excellent ribs, also another place in Myrtle Beach that is excellent as well. Both far better than Montgomery Inn, but unfortunately neither have a place around here. I have to agree with uk#1fan that years ago, Walt's were better.

I'd take Walt's sauce any day over Montgomery Inn, but in my opinion, it's hard beating the melt-off-the-bone tenderness that they have at Montgomery Inn. I like the smokey taste they got at Walt's from cooking over the wood pit, but I usually thought theirs were a little more on the dry side than I prefer. Walt's sauce on Montgomery Inn ribs...man, that'd be heaven.

They have a location on the west side of Nashville and on the north side near Rivergate Mall. I wish I lived closer. I prefer Calhoun's to Montgomery Inn. Not saying that Montgomery Inn is bad by any means, but it didn't live up to my expectations based on what I had heard about it.
