Hey, lets face it, the kids and the other spring sports are penalized by one and only one person. The "Hal Mumme" spring football rule. Nothing more , nothing less. Period!!!!!

If the KHSAA would kill the spring football rule then schools like Highlands will flourish again in other sports. Its that simple. All the other excuses will fall into place.

But to think that Dale will not take advantage of Spring ball and use it to his advantage then one would be nuts. The first time he would not practice spring ball and the Birds lost a meaningful game then the FTM would have his head and people would be sending "The Email" and stuff. LOL

 

Kudos to Sweeperboy for his wise commentary. Sure beats animated character replies.:thumb: I bet if they did do away with spring football, the kids wouldn't necessarily be crestfallen about it. Highlands would then return to a well balanced state helping galvanize the community instead of polarizing it by a few far left extremists.

My guess and from the past history, Highlands will by the end of the first week of spring ball will be in midseason form. It just amazes me as I watch some of these practices and see the organizational skills of Dales porgram. No day, hr, min or second is wasted. Military like.....with results.

Did you really mean to write that some part of Highlands athletics, or more specifically the football program, is actually polarizing the community? Do you actually read what you post?

 

Who are you charactrizing as Far Left Extremists? Would it be the school administration, coaches, teachers, players, fans or who?

Who in NKY doesn't do spring ball?

 

 

Next year the timing of spring practice will be different.

Trust me when I say this.....

 

No one and I mean no one goes to a Ft Thomas Independent School for free that lives out of district. Ft Thomas relies way too much on tuition students for their day to day operations.....

 

I know of one board member that will personally check addresses to make sure parents aren't trying to cheat the system. Not going to happen my friend!

Don't believe everything you hear .... I would say that the number is closer to 5% than 50% (for the entire school).

You can walk down Beechwood Road at 3:00 pm and realize that the overwhelming majority of kids at Beechwood live in the neighborhood.

I can tell you how a kid from FT has to go to Campbell County. The City annexed some property into the City years ago. However, a city's boundaries are not necessarily one and the same as the independent school district's boundary. The school district tried to get it's boundaries modified to include the annexed area years ago. The state said no. So as it is, some kids that live in the City are not in the FT Independent School District but rather are in the Campbell County School District. Hence they go to Campbell County. But something tells me you already knew that, as well as knowing that the FT school district has reciprocity with some other school districts in N. Ky but not Campbell County.

 

Now can we get back to Spring Football?
