It amazes me that teachers and others do things like this within the education system. Do they think they aren't going to get caught? Between people saying things, seeing things, the Internet, mobile devices, etc., what are they thinking? Regardless of the things that I just mentioned, it still isn't right. I'm not saying that I didn't find teachers attractive as a student, but as an adult, I would never jepordize my career and the problems that it puts on your name/record as an educational professional.

You know I've wondered the same. There are no secrets in a high school, so I don't see why a teacher would think they could get by with it. Some people are just sick I guess.

Would I have felt violated then? No way. But let's be honest, hot teachers are rarely as hot as they seem to HS students. Anytime an adult has sex with a child I have a problem. I know guys my age (23) that date high school girls and it makes me sick and to be honest it's quite pathetic. I think psychologically being in a position of power such as a teacher or principal that really conflicts with a child's ability to make a decision, so I don't blame the HS students in this case. But as a teacher you are contractually and hopefully morally obligated to be an adult.

 

I don't think a lot of 17 or 18 year old guys have really high standards.

What's even funnier to me is trying to recall all of my female teachers. Not a prospect in the group.

As a huge majority on here are cracking jokes about this, I am too, I don't see too much of an issue when it's a female teacher with male students over the age of consent, which in Ohio is actually 16, as it is in KY. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah I know about the possible conflict with the teacher having authority over the student, But I can say that any student with a teacher was not forced, as the student would have the teacher buy the groin area and they would be toast!

 

Male students are just different, it is now, always has been, and always will! sowing your oats ect, This kind of reminds me a little of Animal House, when the kid is in his bedroom with a Playboy and the girl comes crashing through his window and onto his bed, he then looks up and says "Thank you God!" LOL. It's about every kids dream to be with an older woman. Or even Private Lessons.

 

Heck, not too long ago it was okay for 13 and 14 year old girls to get married to much older males. Go back just a little farther and you can even knock a few years off of those ages too.

 

With a female student with a male teacher the female may be looking for something emotional and this may not be what the male teacher wants. But with a male student, there is one thing that they are thinking of, SEX! They don't care about any emotional relationship. I think that is why there is a difference. Most countries are not so hard on this as the U.S.

Interesting. We seem to think this is a new thing (the last 20 years). But, I once had an 80 year old man ask me if I had sex with any of my teachers. I, of course said, "No". He went on to tell me that it happened all the time when he was in school. Apparently, this has been going on for a long time.

Seriously? What a double standard. All teenage guys only want to get some and don't get emotionally involved? Go sit in a high school for a week and tell me the same thing. Kids are always crying about their girlfriends.
