February 9, 201115 yr The sole requirement for a 17-18 year old guy is that they be of the opposite sex, anything more is just an added bonus.
February 9, 201115 yr Seriously? What a double standard. All teenage guys only want to get some and don't get emotionally involved? Go sit in a high school for a week and tell me the same thing. Kids are always crying about their girlfriends.I spent as much time in a H.S. as anyone else on here. I don't recall this phenomena of "always crying about their girlfriends" at all...

Unless he means crying about not getting any from their girlfriends... You guys are living in a fantasy world. Sure many high school guys only worry about getting some, but I've seen plenty that are head over heels for a girl. All guys talk a big game, but most of it is just guy-talk. There aren't as many relationship-sociopaths walking the hallways as you guys want to let on.

I'm sorry, but the overwhelming majority (over 75% conservatively) are only concerned about getting some and are NOT "always crying about their girlfriends" as you say. I can think of at MAX ten guys in my class who were close to your criteria. I graduated with about 50 guys, so 20% were in your camp... Your attempt to make the majority of h.s. boys into something they aren't is off base.

Live in the fantasy world where only 10% of the guys you went to school with actually cared about their relationships. I can only think of about 1 or 2 people from my class that I know that didn't get all torn up over a girl when I was in school and one of them ended up turning out to not like girls at all anyway. Show me 2 high schoolers that say that getting some is all they think about & they have never cared about any girl they've taken out a whole lot and I will show you at least one liar. And you wouldn't know what falls in my camp or how I viewed the world as a 17 year old.

Your statements are silly, there is a big difference between "always crying about their girlfriends" and not caring at all. They may have cared, but the priority of teenage boys is still the same, caring or not. And no, I didn't go to a h.s. nor hear of one where the boys were always crying as you say. It sounds like someone is a little bitter over their h.s. experience. :sssh: Of course I wouldn't. I grew up in the real world.
February 10, 201115 yr I was upset over a few girls at that age. Usually because I thought I was getting cut off...

But kids I've worked with over the last few years tell me a different story than your experience. Even the kids who talked a big game, were much different when it came down to it. I'm a realist, most guys are very interested in sex. But to act like boys would not be emotionally invested in a sexual relationship with a teacher is crazy to me. Some wouldn't but many would. The same can be said for girls, and that's what I think many are overlooking. Writing this event off as "boys will be boys" makes me sick, because at the heart of the matter a teacher had sex with a student. That would be against the code of ethics in teaching, and I would imagine against any school district in America's rules. And as for crying, I wasn't talking about literally, though I've seen some that upset. Crying = whining to me.
February 10, 201115 yr And for the record I would love to be able to go back and see how much swag you guys had in High School. You might be remembering it differently than how it happened.......
February 10, 201115 yr Author There was no such thing as swag when GT was in high school. I think it was "strutting" then.
