I think of all the education that I've missed, but then my homework was never quite like this!

This makes me sick. As a current student teacher and future educator it's sad to see someone in such an influential position take advantage of kids like that. People crack jokes and whatever, but its sad when an adult has to prey on children, no matter the age. Anyone in HS, even if they are 18 or 19 is still a kid to me, even if it's only on the emotional level. I hope she gets the maximum sentence.

Obviously the responses here are emblematic of the double standard that exists today and has always existed.

 

The question I would have for the female BGPers would be does a male teacher/female student have less of an impact on you than the other way around as it seems to with the male population?

Or are you asking, if the situation were we reversed would female BGPers be cracking jokes about it like the male BGPers are of this situation?

Would I have felt violated then? No way. But let's be honest, hot teachers are rarely as hot as they seem to HS students. Anytime an adult has sex with a child I have a problem. I know guys my age (23) that date high school girls and it makes me sick and to be honest it's quite pathetic. I think psychologically being in a position of power such as a teacher or principal that really conflicts with a child's ability to make a decision, so I don't blame the HS students in this case. But as a teacher you are contractually and hopefully morally obligated to be an adult.

I agree there is a double standard. Had the sexes for both parties have been reversed people would have been up in arms IMO. I guess high school girls are vulnerable but boys will be boys.

I think both are travesties. There's simply no excuse for an adult of either sex to be in that kind of relationship with a minor. Heck, I still have problems with Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.

We only know one side of the story the teacher could have been forced into it you never know.
