April 25, 201214 yr Looks like he can shoot the ball a little bit. He's been labeled as a "shooting specialist."
April 25, 201214 yr He's been labeled as a "shooting specialist." I'll take a "shooting specialist". From watching his clip on KSR, I will say that you definitely shouldn't give this kid room. He's not afraid to pull up in your face. Not many players shoot consistently like that (granted, they only show the makes). If we have the extra scholarship, its not a bad move. He's not going to be a starter, so why not grab a sharp shooter who would more than likely be a 3-4 year player? In Cal I Trust!
April 25, 201214 yr Cal must be worried about next years front court. A kid from Croatia/Indiana seems like a desperate last minute grab. -As for Jefferson, everything I have read has him at Duke. I wouldn't hold my breath on him.. -Cauley-Stein- is going to be something special--may take a year longer than some of UK's recent recruits, but give him time. Kid is 6'11'' and not to mention pretty athletic. Are you sure this is a "desperate last minute grab" on Cal's part? I remember reading before the Noel commit that UK was "on a surprise recruit, maybe even from overseas"---This kid certainly qualifies? Regardless, this looks like a kid that could really help and fill a need with his outside range on a team with only Wiltjer as a consistent outside shooter. Listened to Dave Telep on Sirius last night and he feels the Bennett kid, despite his list. is down to FL & UK; while Jefferson seems to be a bit of a wild card, and tough to predict. Mainly though he was outwardly puzzled what these kids were waiting for, and while this may be me reading into the situation; it seems like while UK figures prominently in both's recruitment, they don't want to go to the same school & get in a battle for playing time? One thing obvious with the '12-13' UK team as it currently stands is that they are very thin. Adding any combination of Bennett, Jefferson, Lyons, Brzoja, Harrell, Graham, etc.; preferably at least two, would be huge in the attempt to defend the title. Would love to see a team that went a legit 7, 8, or 9 deep, and could withstand a potential injury or two. Guess we'll know in a few weeks??

I was just under the impression Bennet was the only main target left. I think desperate was the wrong adjective. Brzoja definitely looks like he can fill it up, but we have all seen you tube sensations fall just as fast as they have risen. Nonetheless a dead eye shooter and a banger like Bennet would be huge, because as you alluded to UK will be thin at times next year.
April 25, 201214 yr Ben Roberts @NextCats RT @SJonesRivals New UK target/Croatian import Mislav Brzoja is taking his official visit to UK tomorrow, his high school coach said.
April 26, 201214 yr I think Mislav Brzoja could do wrll at UK, then next year add another Croatian in Mario Hezonja, who some say reminds them of Rex Chapman. He is a huge UK fan thanks to someone. BTW, I will be working with the Croatian team this June and July as I work the FIBA U17 world championships.
