Kentucky - 2012 Recruiting

Featured Replies

He's not a bad shooter and can get blistering hot now and again, but he is streaky and not yet a guy you would count on to hit around 40%.

How many players can you count on to hit around 40% from 3 when they step foot on campus??

A lot of Kentucky fans sure are making us all proud with their Twitter vitriol towards Bennett.

It's moronic and the one thing that really bothers me about being a UK fan.

I'd venture to say, not very many. Granted he was playing at a mid-major, but still.

Its nothing unique to Kentucky.

I hate it when some of our fans act that way.

Anyway, it's my understanding that UK and Florida actually dropped Bennett due to his academic qualification not meeting SEC guidelines. I suppose they took the highroad and allowed him to say he dropped them. I guess they just dropped each other.

Goodman, Daniels, and Pearl were still wondering why Bennett dropped UF and UK today on Sirius.

No clue. They weren't alluding to "other possibilities."

I'll go with playing dumb for now, but I didn't hear the segment. There was quite a bit of talk about the situation Friday night so a good deal of info is out there. Granted, none of those guys were in the building so maybe it hasn't trickled all the way out yet. I find that one hard to believe...

@AdamZagoria

Amile Jefferson will "decide/announce by next Wednesday," his HS coach, Jason Polykoff, tells @SNYtv. That's the end of the late signing period.

Let's go Cal, get it done!

Jefferson doesn't seem to really get the recognition he deserves, but the guy is a great player and someone who would fill this class out beautifully. He's not flashy or he won't dunk everything with vengeance, but everything he does is solid. Has a great all around game and an unbelievable amount of touch inside. Doesn't really shy away from the big stage either, as he scored 24 and was MVP of last years Adidas Nations (his team also won). I think adding him to the roster as a 2-3 year player would be a huge get for UK. Would add some much needed depth across the board and could be a potential starter at the 3 or 4 (him or Wiltjer at 4 or Jefferson at 3 and Poythress at 4). In Cal's system though could likely play and guard 2-5 if need be. Hoping Kentucky closed the gap and gets it done.

Would love to get him, but I've always felt he'd be playing in the ACC. My guess is Duke.

Montrezl Harrell has officially been granted his LOI release from Virginia Tech, so he is now on the radar.

Potential options to fill out the 2012 class......

Amile Jefferson (set to announce Wednesday)

Julius Mays (could announce in the next week)

Montrezl Harrell (getting looks from UK and UL, among others)

Mislav Brozja (although hes looking like the last option at this point)

Tony Trocha (Columbian import/enigma who could reclassify from 13' to 12')
