Ben Nevels was at Lloyd as an assistant a very good young man and very dependable and players love him he is a great teacher of young men and can communicate well with them. I wish him the best because they have a great young coaching staff at Holmes. JD

How about Matt Reinhart, Head Coach at Brossart. He has the head coaching experience. Built a program basically from the ground up. Been to the playoffs. Is a Holmes graduate. And as some people pointed out in Brossart threads, is a little rough around the edges. He would fit in nicely down in Covington. I'm sure Holmes is one job that he would consider leaving Brossart for.

I always heard that Dixie hired Brossart to become head coach there when that guy step down. Probably not true....

Yea Reinhart is a Scott grad class of 95.

Something to always take into account when it comes to Holmes and hiring coaches is Ron Madrick has strong ties throughout the state, especially the Louisville area. In the past he has hired college assistants ( Henley and Vandermeer), Mike Farley was a coach in waiting that was brought in from Michigan many years ago, then David Trosper who was a assistant at the I-AA level, and this past spring Jason Booher who has no ties to NKY. So while the normal names in NKY may be considered, dont be suprised if it's a college assistant or someone from downstate somewhere.

I wonder why people get on here and post negative things about a Coach who they Don't know. Coach Brossart has had success as a HC before, but you would know I will tell you that he worked is butt off at CovCath and is a great person and a good Coach. I don't think somebody who has never Coached or played the game at that level should be putting him down.

I'd think a young coach would be the best fit. I'm not sure if people realize how much extra work is involved at Holmes as compared to 90% of the remaining schools.

 

Holmes needs some enthusiasm and a tough young guy who can relate to the boys and be the boss.

I think he could definitely fit well in that program. He was very enthusiastic while at Cov Cath, no doubt. However, from my understanding, he's pretty happy at Dixie. I also heard the rumblings Govnah mentioned about Brossart taking over once Spritzky retires though. Can anyone confirm or deny?

IS Dan Wooley still at Scott? May he be ready for a head job?
