Been away for a few days so just now seeing this.

 

So glad to hear better news my PH friends. Continued prayers my dear friends!

We're going with the "no news is good news" theory right now. Haven't heard anything since the last update, on Sunday; however, I trust Michael is healing up and getting stronger. In no time at all, he'll be back to giving the doctors a hard time, lobbying to go home and finding his way onto the pages of BGP.

Finally got some news on PurpleHaze tonight; and I'm happy to report that it is good news! In the week since I last heard from Mrs. PH, Michael has had a hellish time. He's been in ICU, dealing with terrible hallucinations, delusional thinking, and total insomnia. They've been using poweful drugs in an attempt to knock him out, but the Bulldog just won't give in! He managed to stay awake for six days straight, before finally getting some shut-eye last night. When he awoke, today, he was back to his more lucid self, although still groggy.

 

Mrs. PH had some good stories about Michael's more comical exploits this week, and it was good to hear her be able to laugh. In times like this, it's healthy to be able to laugh at life's little absurdities. But of course, she's still worried sick about him. I did my best to point out that she needs to take care of herself, if she hopes to be any help to Michael. Fortunately, one of Mike's friends is coming to visit with him tomorrow, which will give Mrs. PH a much needed respite.

 

They're hoping Michael can get out of there sometime this week. With his determination and Bulldog attitude, I wouldn't doubt that he can do just that. I'll let you know when I hear from them again.

Thanks so much for the update, BF. PH is one tough hombre! I hate to hear about the horrible hallucinations, insomnia and other problems he's been dealing with, but I'm very pleased to hear that he's doing better now. My prayers continue for him and Mrs. PH and like you, I hope to see him get released sometime this week.

WHEW....WE ARE HOME!!!!!

Thank God for you all, our family, doctors and nurses and other friends...However, I will give the greatest thanks to GOD!!!!

What a ride. My brain still will not wrap around all that has happend. As BF stated, we ended up at the ER when he was so sick. From there, a know it all fruitcake surgeon....the one who did his first surgery....said that PH might just have a stomach flu and got him a room at the hospital for that night. I told him that I know that it is more than just that. He has not gone to the bathroom like he should be and his stomach is now huge. He told me to stop playing my childish games that I was not a doctor....well, words were exchanged and such....long story short, Doctor put him on the 4th floor of the hospital for that night.

We got to the room and the nurses were doing all the intake stuff. I looked over at Mike and told the nurse that something was not right with him. She took his blood pressure again and all. She then took the blood pressure with a doppler because she could not believe it was that low and she could not hear or get anything with doing it the normal way. Other nurses were called in....oxygen level too low, BP too low, non responsive....stopped breathing....crash cart.....started breathing on his own....ICU...With prayers, his regular surgeon was contacted, he came in, looked at him, heard what was going on and the recent surgery, up to surgery. Found the rip in his intestine that was done by the other surgeon during the other surgery. Repair done.

Then, like BF stated, Mike decided not to sleep and "go to a safe place" as the doctors are calling it....it is called ICU Psychosis. Some of the things that went on durning that time LOL LOL>.....anyway, finally slept, in a normal room and now home.

Mike is a stong bugger!!! God had him in His hands the whole time. I have to believe that this too had a reason behind it. It is for me not to know right now I guess. All I know is I have my Christmas present at home with me right now. I thank God for this and all the other Miracles that He has allowed for Mike!

I love you Mike....It is great to have you home!!!!!
