Yes, I am serious! Unlike others on here I do not make outlandish statements, and most of those others making such statements haven't even seen the other teams play. Have you seen Mayfield play? I said Mayfield could beat those teams but I wasn't sure how they would do against Highlands or possibly even Ryle!

The Athletic Boosters sell the reserved seats for $40.00 a season which included the admission to the game. That was how it was in previous years, I do not know about this year. And usually, it was just for the regular season, now I see the seats were being sold during the week for $8.00 for last night's game. I personally do not like it, not because I am a cheapskate, I just think it should be first come, first serve like most other schools.

When the first post you make after your team loses says that you miss a former coach you're saying the current coach hurt the team. I can see where some would be bothered by that.

BUT, everyone is entitled to their own opinion! No one should be bothered by another persons statement/opinion. Heck, every BW game I go to I miss M.Y. as well as B.B., And during the playoffs more so, and that has nothing to do with the current head coach.

Mayfield, OCath, Tilghman, Christian County -- I'd say he can.

 

Scribe ... I think you are reaching a little. Owensboro is probably more than 2 hours from Mayfield and Paducah. Christian County is at least an hour away. I know the population base is much different but in N. Ky. these schools are really close to each other. Ryle, Beechwood, Dixie, Cov Cath, Holy Cross, New Cath, Holmes, Highlands ... these schools are all within 20 miles of each other. There are Cov Cath players that live in Ft. Mitchell. There are New Cath players that live in Ft. Thomas. There are players that live in Dixie's district that go to Beechwood and Cov Cath. When you look at it that way, you have to say N. Ky. is its own little universe. There are a lot of very good football schools compacted in a small geographic footprint.

 

But I know where you are coming from. I always find it somewhat humerous when I read these annual claims about no respect for this region or that region. The fact is there are very good programs in every corner of the state. From Paducah to Belfry to N. Ky. to Bell County to Lexington and Louisville. Every area has its top notch programs and they all get great respect ... yes, even you poor little overlooked mountain teams too. Those who feel their region doesn't get respect ... it is their own incorrect perception and not fact.

True, and nothing wrong with that. Many people will miss Coach Rash when he is gone too ... let's all hope that is a long way down the road. How many coaches in KY have won two state titles? I know where QS was coming from and can definitely understand his being offended. It was not a good time to make a M.Y. comment so soon after a tough loss. Coach Rash is as good as it gets as a coach. His work ethic is incredible. His passion is unmatched. And he has more heart and caring for his players than any coach I have ever seen. Would you agree with that sportsguy, emporer, wildcat and _______?

I agree with everything highlighted. I did not highlight about when he leaves as that is up to him, I never wanted Barre to ever leave, then Yeagle, but they left when THEY needed to, I would not want a coach to stay longer than he wants to. I would say no one can surpass the passion, heart or caring for his players.

One fact we need to also keep in mind. In the past four years, I believe only Trinity, Highlands, Ft. Campbell and BEECHWOOD under COACH RASH have won 2 state championships. If anyone questions his coaching ability, I am embarrassed for you. I will try not to comment on this anymore in this game thread. I don't want to detract further here from a nice win by a very good, very talented Mayfield team.

I have nothing bad to say about Coach Rash, but many, many coaches are passionate, have heart, and care for their players; I don't know how anyone would separate who has the most????

 

I will say that since 6 classes have been added, every class is a bit watered down, and for whatever reason, Beechwood is not getting the talent they once did; I have no idea why; I am not close enough to the situation to comment; they did win the big school frosh championship 2 seasons ago and many expected big things from them that have not materialized; maybe next season will be the year that class puts it all together as Seniors.

 

Beechwood did domate a Class A field, when there was only 4 classes; I haven't examined it closely, but I would guess looking from afar that that was a tougher field, including teams like NCC and Danville.

So true. It's moronic to say that your(anyone's) coach has more passion/heart/care for their players.

I have a question since Mayfield has been in 1A how many titles do they have? I can count only 2 both against Beechwood. Beechwood has more titles than they do during this time. So whoever said Beechwood wasn't the King of Class A think again. I know that Mayfield is 4-0 against the Tigers all time but that streak should have ended a long time ago. It will end sooner or later. I know blah blah blah but it still amazes me that in 95 Beechwood knocks out their starting QB but a backup beats them. The turning part in that game was when they scored right right before the half and they get the 2 point converstion to tie it up.

Jason, you have a fixation on the 95 game. Yeah, Mayfield is 4-0 against Beechwood and what we needed to get 2 more titles was to play them more in title games.
