If you can, Mr. Obnoxious (j/k), post the story link here so everyone can see the stats. I would guess that is about right on Vocke. I doubt that he had much more than 10 carries in the game. Beechwood decided that the passing game was what they needed to do so the runs were pretty limited after the first quarter. I am not so sure about the stats being even. I would think Mayfield had perhaps 75-100 more total yards, mainly because of that last long grinding drive. I guess we will see when the paper comes out tomorrow.

The most surprising stat for me is the passing for Beechwood. It sure didn't seem like 8 - 30. Seeing that and seeing the rushing stats for Beechwood makes me wonder even more why Beechwood did not run the ball more. Each of Beechwood's backs can take it all on the way on any run. But, that is hindsight and it always seems there is an easy answer the day after the game.

We are Kentuckians but you are right. The people in Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties don't have much of an accent. Once you get out of those three upper most counties, the further south you go the more you hear the accent. Even at the south end of those counties you will start hearing the Kentucky accent more.

 

I am in N Ky all the time, and I hear "Kentucky" accents all over the 3 county area referred to as "Northern Kentucky". Since my family is mostly from Michigan, I suppose I just don't see much of a difference between that area and other areas in Kentucky (with some exceptions of course). Now there are more "country" accents in certain parts of Kentucky to be sure, but N. Ky accents are for the most part still "southern" for the most part.

Jason, you have a fixation on the 95 game. Yeah, Mayfield is 4-0 against Beechwood and what we needed to get 2 more titles was to play them more in title games.

So after watching Vocke, I came away very underimpressed, is he overhyped? He just seemed like a ordinary hs back but the wr who had 2 td's left me thinking, this guy is the real deal. Overall, Guhy stood out the most for either team and he does not get alot of attention despite amazing numbers

'Overhyped' is an objective opinion. I think he is a good HS back; unfortunately, there were just no holes for him to run.

 

#4 who caught the two passes is big and pretty darn good too; however, from what I am told, his first love is basketball.

In my opinion, if this kid has a little bit of room to move no one can catch him. He has a great ability to stop, cut, and juke, and get right back up to full speed better than anyone I have seen in NKY in a while. Unfortunately, at 5' 8" and maybe 160 lbs., he cannot bust through a crowded line very well.
