OUCH! I have seen all of those instances. Shoot, earlier in the season, one of the coaches sons wouldn't come off the field. They called time out, he came out of the game and BAM...he was back in....but hey, he is the 'golden boy'. Has been since he came to the school.

 

WRONG AGAIN.

He was out for 3 series (right at 20 plays).

Which ended up costing dearly.

I am so impressed that you felt the need to do so.

Please say all you want about the adults .... but when you sink so low to start pointing kids out--and make it obvious who they are ... you make it very obvious that your intentions are nothing other than spite.

 

I can't say that I am surprised though .... this happens right on the sidelines in ear shot of the kids (I am sure you will make a comment about the coaches--but there are a few "adults" who make the coaches look like amateurs).

 

At least we know who is grinding the ax now ...

One of those seniors starting for the first time so perhaps inexperienced is applicable more than young. On the defensive side all juniors. The backups were all underclassmen. So out of the top 12 linemen who all played a significant amount, there are 3 seniors. Do you think the line will be better next year?

How do you earn playing time on this team?

 

Mistakes? You mean like jumping offsides multiple times? or, dropping more passes than you caught? or, receiving multiple unsportsmanlike calls because of your mouth? or, refusing to come of the field when your sub was sent in causing the coaches to use a time out? Just wondering because none of the players above lost their opportunity! We saw many of these same mistakes on Friday against Mayfield.

 

I just don't like the way these teams are managed. I think they have gotten away from what Beechwood Football is all about!

Being a relative new comer to NKY, I only hear the rumors of what BW football was in the past. I really dont agree with the way the coaches handle the players. Having been around many coaches, at all levels, I find the tantrums on the sidelines and in the locker room to be a poor example as how to behave.

This is high school football , and the players are young men working through life deciding who they will become. Teams are a reflection of the leadership! To coach with fear and intimidation at a school like Beechwood is an injustice to the players. The goal of any person working with the youth of today should be to give them tools they can use in the future. Fear and intimidation wont work for these kids.

Now I am not saying the coaching staff is all evil or anything like that. I do believe they need to look at themselves, as we all need to from time to time.

I am very proud my son decided to follow other pursuits, and not play for Noel Rash or to be associated with this football team...

Scribe ... I think you are reaching a little. Owensboro is probably more than 2 hours from Mayfield and Paducah. Christian County is at least an hour away. I know the population base is much different but in N. Ky. these schools are really close to each other. Ryle, Beechwood, Dixie, Cov Cath, Holy Cross, New Cath, Holmes, Highlands ... these schools are all within 20 miles of each other. There are Cov Cath players that live in Ft. Mitchell. There are New Cath players that live in Ft. Thomas. There are players that live in Dixie's district that go to Beechwood and Cov Cath. When you look at it that way, you have to say N. Ky. is its own little universe. There are a lot of very good football schools compacted in a small geographic footprint. But I know where you are coming from. I always find it somewhat humerous when I read these annual claims about no respect for this region or that region. The fact is there are very good programs in every corner of the state. From Paducah to Belfry to N. Ky. to Bell County to Lexington and Louisville. Every area has its top notch programs and they all get great respect ... yes, even you poor little overlooked mountain teams too. Those who feel their region doesn't get respect ... it is their own incorrect perception and not fact.

 

Last year, Mayfield, Tilghman and Lone Oak were all in the finals. They're all 20 minutes apart, so, I'd say that was pretty good. I also think Murray was the 2nd best 2a team last year behind Ft Campbell and they're also in that little universe. Last year, NKy had Highlands in the finals and that was it. So, I'd say the western part of the state has represented pretty well the last couple of years.

I can't believe you guys are having this big of a meltdown. We went through alot of this the last few years and the sun did still rise in the east and set in the west

I wish my son could of been on the field Friday night and all season. He would of loved to had the chance to be out there the last 2 1/2 seasons. It is easy to find the negative points in a loss. Maybe there are issues that may need to be addressed, maybe not. They do not need to be addressed in a public forum. Step up and go have a meeting with who you need to. Do not hide behind a keyboard. It is also easy to find the negative points in something when you do not want to work as hard as the people in charge are asking.

 

This is just my two cents and it may mean nothing.
