Voice, I dont know if this was Jackson's best game. It seemed to me very standard. I will tell you he is very good. Very Very solid. He will have to get taller in the next few years to move on to big time college football. He has a nose for the ball and he is a good student and a leader. As a runner he is a step slow but runs with decent power. He has had a tendency to fumble just a little bit. He is a sophomore and to me I wouldn't trade him for any sophomore in KY.

 

I agree with all you say here and that is my point. He is a player but he isn't a D1 scholarship lock. Honestly, I think he impressed me more in the game last year than he did in this one so you may be right that this wasn't his best game. I wouldn't expect any Mayfield fan to trade him for any other sophomore. And I doubt there are any Beechwood fans that would trade Nussbaum or Erdman for Jackson. Rightfully so. All are excellent players and it will be fun for us to watch them over the next couple of years.

TP ... want to say it was the kickoff return. Mayfield took control in the 4th quarter when they went to the power I and started grinding out first downs. Beechwood not being able to stop that was when everyone knew the game was over.

 

That is exactly what I am saying, the 3rd had the kick and then the ball control. Late in the 3rd we all knew Mayfield was going to win unless somthing major happened. I said in the prediction thread that I felt we could run right at you with a superior line but I was suprised we were as effective as we were but that kick return may have had somthing to do with the Bw players mental state. True we did start out of synch but then setteled down

Mayfield was obviously the better team. Beechwood had way to many mistakes like all season. As for the Beechwood run defense I was impressed they need alot of work on thier pass defense and definetly the passing game. I feel MAx Nussbaum is the overall best player on Beechwood. He can run, block, tackle, and catch. Pretty special player. The dline and linebackers held the run game and if they can improve pass defense and the offense next year should be pretty good.

Correct, NewCath moved up to 2A. Since then Beechwood's 2nd string could beat the rest of their district foes without a problem and that includes last years Bellevue team. The regular season game last year against Bellevue (BW 20 - Bell 8) is the only time Beechwood had a close game in district since NewCath moved up. Nothing against BW but the rest of the district just doesn't have enough talent to challenge them. It's a shame since there is such rich tradition with some of these programs, most notably Bellevue.

That is exactly what it was, you can spin it anyway you like to try and make you feel better but we controled the game from the begining. Bw countered for a while but the Cards stamped the game in the 3rd quarter and all in the stadium left knowing it.

 

Get out and what more football, look in the mirror, football does not revolve around your little center of the universe in NKY.

You guys are missing the point on Jackson, he is a solid big strong back but he is a defensive star that maybe the best we have ever produced. There was no other defensive player on the field of his caliber last night.

qs must be a frustrated coach on the current squad that wasnt good enough to be on Yeagle's staff. Every time Yeagle's name comes up, qs falls apart. He's a silly man with not much confidence.

 

Someone of you are living in a dream land. Yeagle was the man through the 90's; however, with that being said, in the 2000's his staff did everything. Granted he was ill, and stepped down for a year but he never recovered to anywhere near the point he was at in the 90's. Heck he didn't even make the semi final game in '04 in Pikeville. Rash called the defense and Hergott called the offense and they did a great job. Govnah, you've made some incredibly silly comments on here as well, not saying qs comments were silly. I'm sure he (qs) gets tired of listening to all the bs posted on her at times from those who are very uniformed.

Well enough of the bantering back and forth for me. It was a good game between a couple great programs just as it should have been. For now we are the victor and if we can manage a win next week we will enjoy the spoils. BW will figure out why Mayfield is their kryptonite and they will again enjoy the spoils but as long as Mayfield is in 1A we will get our share, we always have going back to the days long before BW was winning titles.
