I pulled up a Hotel 8 in Fort Mitchell but don't know if it is in the surrounding area of the school. Can someone please advise?

This hotel and the Drawbridge Hotel are the two hotels that are in Ft. Mitchell. But as Sparkey said, there are many hotels within 10 minutes of Beechwood.

Mayfield also has played no where near the schedule that Beechwood has played. Put Mayfield against Beechwood's schedule and they're probably sitting at 9-4 right now with losses to Covcath, Highlands, Dixie, and Newcath.

 

I think the schedule is a non issue in looking at this game. Just because you play a tougher schedule doesn't mean you are better than another team. You have to look at how the teams did against those tough teams on their schedule. Yes, Beechwood has played a more difficult schedule. But I would say the team Mayfield played that is most like Beechwood is Paducah Tighlman and Mayfield beat them in a close game. The team Beechwood played that is probably the closest to Mayfield is Newport Central Catholic, and Beechwood won that in double OT. It should be a close hard fought game. Mayfield is the clear favorite IMO based on being undefeated, ranked #1 all season and because they handily beat the Tigers last year.

Rookie, just because you have Mayfield listed as your location doesnt mean you're from Mayfield or even a Mayfield fan. As far as I know you haven't even seen them play in person.

The schedule means nothing. Mayfield is 13-0 and will be 14-0 or 13-1. Mayfield has a solid team , Beechwood has a solid team.

Maybe, maybe not, the softer schedule can have the effect of getting use to slower coverages ect. Getting use to weaker teams sometimes has negative effects. Bw's schedule ranks 91 and Mayfield 138 I think. I still like my chances but it could be a factor

Just turn left out of the hotel lot to the first stop sign, and right onto Beechwood Road, the next stop sign take a left until you see the school on your left. Best place to park should be the Kroger lot, continue past the school about 300 yards, turn left onto Dixie HWY, then a couple 100 yards turn right into the Expressway Plaza, walk towards the Kroger gas station and to the back gate. The school is just a 3 minute drive with this route.

 

Do NOT, I repeat, Do NOT stay at Hotel USA! The entire area has been trying to shut that place down since the owners bought it from Holiday Inn about 5 or 6 years ago. Unless you like their hourly rate plan.

SNAKE- I can prove i'm from Mayfiled and a MHS fan, I can probably answer most questions you could ask me about the town, or the team, even things that a non-MHS fan could look up on internet or whatever!

THe Drawbridge as in the one on the right side of 75 with the restaurant ontop? Which is closer and what would be you locals guys choice of lodging within 10 minutes of BW that is $150 or less. Here is a little know secret, my wife is from Edgewood, a NDA and UK girl. Her grandparents still live in Cinncy but parents moved to TN. I use to hate that drive

Last year Mayfield owned the line of scrimmage and we were clearly faster at many and mosts positions, thankfully we return that line and they are bigger, stronger and faster so advantage Mayfield there. QB is a big advantage for Mayfield. RB is advantage BW. I might be wrong but I doubt BW is going to out play our line that has already proven to be better and we are still quicker. Most 1A teams likely are a little intimidated by BW as many are of us but obviously that is not a problem for Mayfield and it could be for BW given the pasts but I doubt it is and should work as motivation in favor of BW but Mayfield for the last 50+ years is use to getting ever teams best shot. Then there is that drive, Mayfield was not ready last night and if they come out like that again I will not be staying to see the end of the game this time due to being rushed to the hospital for chest pains. The Mayfield schedule in my opinion, is the weakest this year I can ever recall and I have been around a pretty good while. The schedule is not all Mayfield's fault as the larger deep west teams were down say Christian Co and the better teams in LO and Murray declined to play is or could not get the dates to work out but it is what it is and it as kept the starters from playing 4 quarters and that could turn into a problem for Mayfield condition wise. At the end of the day I am well aware that BW is capable of taking us down but I expect Mayfield wins

 

I'm sure Mayfield has a nice line, but I wouldn't be so quick to give them the advantage over Beechwood. Tigers line dominate Newcath up front and if Mayfield has more size or quickness than Newcath, I'd be exremely impressed and surprised.

 

Let's not forget that Newcath's left side of the line goes 6'10 330 and 6'7 245. Add in a couple more kids that are in the 6'1-6'2 range and Newcath is easily one of the biggest lines in the state.

 

Don't be fooled by last year. This is a different Beechwood team. They were exremely young last year and all those guys are back bigger, stronger, and faster as well.

 

Should be a great game....but again, if you're hanging your hat on last years' game, you're going to be in for a rude awakening.

If NewCath played pass defense like they did against Beechwood vs Mayfield, you can make that at least 10-3. Breds' were down right porous when it came to stopping passes down the middle against the Beechies.

I think this game will be close no matter who wins. Beechwood has never beaten Mayfield so hopefully the streak ends this year. It has to end sometime.

 

The Mayfield - Danville drought reached something like 7 or 8 games, so I've got no problem keeping this one going.
