I think this game will be close no matter who wins. Beechwood has never beaten Mayfield so hopefully the streak ends this year. It has to end sometime.

Walter, you might be right, you might not be right. I still think Mayfield is a better football team than Beechwood. what matters is will Mayfield beat Beechwood.

Same talk as last year, if Mayfield played Beechwoods schedule, blah blah blah.

Mayfield wouldn't beat Highlands, Dixie, or Newcath this year. We'll never know though so that's just my opinion.

 

Schedule wise, I think Beechwood is more prepared coming in to this game. If they play like they did against Newcath and use a similar gameplan, Mayfield will have a tough time stopping them. Watch the replay on nkysports.com under our webcasts link and you'll see why.

 

Now on the flip side, if Mayfield has a good balanced attack, it could cause some problems for the Beechies. Either way, the winning team will have to play mistake free football. Both of these teams are too good to make a mistake against.

Mayfield has dominated all year. And Beechwood because of pre district play had a rough start. But they are at the top of their game right now. Good luck to both!

I agree with everything that you have said but I would add Hazard in the mix for the best in 1A and one can never count LCA out, theyare really peaking now as well. As anyone can see I can't make up my mind but I am going with Mayfield in this one. Playing an equally good Beechwood team on the road will be tough but I just think this is Mayfields year.

Last year Mayfield owned the line of scrimmage and we were clearly faster at many and mosts positions, thankfully we return that line and they are bigger, stronger and faster so advantage Mayfield there. QB is a big advantage for Mayfield. RB is advantage BW. I might be wrong but I doubt BW is going to out play our line that has already proven to be better and we are still quicker. Most 1A teams likely are a little intimidated by BW as many are of us but obviously that is not a problem for Mayfield and it could be for BW given the pasts but I doubt it is and should work as motivation in favor of BW but Mayfield for the last 50+ years is use to getting ever teams best shot. Then there is that drive, Mayfield was not ready last night and if they come out like that again I will not be staying to see the end of the game this time due to being rushed to the hospital for chest pains. The Mayfield schedule in my opinion, is the weakest this year I can ever recall and I have been around a pretty good while. The schedule is not all Mayfield's fault as the larger deep west teams were down say Christian Co and the better teams in LO and Murray declined to play is or could not get the dates to work out but it is what it is and it as kept the starters from playing 4 quarters and that could turn into a problem for Mayfield condition wise. At the end of the day I am well aware that BW is capable of taking us down but I expect Mayfield wins

Yes, under Ballard Memorial you will find BM - Mayfield. If you listen, turn volume down as BM has kids that apparently know nothing at all about football announcing the game and it will drive you insane
