The Drawbridge is good, indoor pool ect, very close to the school, across the street from the Super 8, and severel restaurants and fast food places at that exit (Buttermilk Pike exit).

 

All sorts of places to eat, if you want to try a good local place then try Greyhound, try the fish, chicken, onion rings or KY brown. Or Montgomery Inn for ribs which is next to the Drawbridge.

I haven't seen the rooms at the Drawbridge recently but I wouldn't call the place run down at all. The lobby and areas outside the rooms are all very nice. I would be surprised if the rooms aren't fairly nice. For convenience to Beechwood, it doesn't get any better than staying at the Drawbridge. It is only about 7 or 8 blocks to Beechwood. Heck, it is so close that you might even be able to get the Drawbridge to shuttle you to the game and avoid the parking nightmare that we will likely see on Friday night.

 

Other good sit down dinner places besides Montgomery Inn and Greyhound are Oriental Wok (Chinese), Bonefish Grill (seafood) and there is an Outback. There are all the usual fast food places there at Buttermilk including Cincinnati style chili at Gold Star and Skyline.

 

If you come up Thursday night, there is a lot to do in the area during the day on Friday. Crestview Hills Towne Center and Newport on the Levee are shopping/entertainment spots to hit. Florence Mall and area is 5 miles from Buttermilk. Some very good museums are just 10 minutes away (Freedom Center, Reds Hall of Fame, Newport Aquarium at the Levee, Cincinnati Museum Center). You could make a weekend of it if you want.

Don't really have a prediction on the score, but I do believe that Mayfield pulls it out. However, for any of you in the NKY area this weekend, I would strongly advise you to go watch this team and namely Jonathan Jackson. Special player and worth the price of admission.

 

Agreed...he and his cousin are legit...both sophomores and A/B students!!! The cousin, "Labront Scott" who plays mostly "D" is bigger and has D1 potential...he and Jackson are both hearing from several larger D1 schools!

The hotel with the revolving restaurant (or as someone else referred to as the hotel with the restaurant on top) is NOT the Drawbridge. I believe you are referring to what is now the Radisson Hotel on 5th Street in Covington, KY which is on the right side of I-75 North just before you cross the bridge into Ohio.

 

The Drawbridge is off of Buttermilk Pike in Ft. Mitchell, which is south of Covington. It has a building next to it that used to be the Gatehouse Tavern, which resembles a castle. The Oldenburg Brewery also used to be next to it. This building is now Montgomery Inn, which is a great place for ribs. The Drawbridge used to be very nice and I am sure it is still nice as they have a lot of conventions there. I haven't been in the Super 8 so I don't know how nice it is. Other nice hotels would be near the airport or some cheaper, newer motels near Turfway Road. I believe the Radisson mentioned above is also nice and is about $119 a night. It gives you a great view of downtown Cincinnati. Any hotels/motels mentioned above would be short driving distance from Beechwood, but Super 8 & Drawbridge are the closest.

 

As other posters have mentioned, do NOT go to the USA Motel in Ft. Mitchell.

The revolving restaurant was the Quality Inn in covington. Drawbridge could have been where you had your prom as their banquet halls were really nice back in the 70s.

 

No, it was Quality Inn, the prom was at Music Hall in Cincy. I just know it had a revolving restaurant. I'm going to give my family a little tour of Anderson Township on friday.

Nothing personal but how do you go from Anderson Township, OH to Mayfield, KY?

I think I am now confused, the Drawbridge is the one on the right side of I75 near that murderous hill that overlooks Cincinnati and I believe is a exit before or after Beechwood High Schools exit. Is this correct? I thought for some reason it had a revolving restaurant on top but it sounds like I am wrong. This seems like the easiest stay to me unless I go to relatives in Cincinnati

I'm sure Mayfield has a nice line, but I wouldn't be so quick to give them the advantage over Beechwood. Tigers line dominate Newcath up front and if Mayfield has more size or quickness than Newcath, I'd be exremely impressed and surprised.

 

Let's not forget that Newcath's left side of the line goes 6'10 330 and 6'7 245. Add in a couple more kids that are in the 6'1-6'2 range and Newcath is easily one of the biggest lines in the state.

 

Don't be fooled by last year. This is a different Beechwood team. They were exremely young last year and all those guys are back bigger, stronger, and faster as well.

 

Should be a great game....but again, if you're hanging your hat on last years' game, you're going to be in for a rude awakening.

 

 

 

Well I saw last years game, I saw our line dominate, we returned our line and they are better than last year so yea I am going to hang my hat there and feel pretty good about doing so. I have no doubt that a program of BW's caliber has addressed problems last year and worked their tail off to improve just as we do. I wouldn't be to quick to sale the Cards short, we are not, nor have we been your typical 1A program that cowars to BW. I doubt we are even havingthis conversation had BW not upset NCC in a rival game. As for schedules I think ours was 130 somthing and BW's 90 somthing. A difference yes but not a overwhelming one and we won our games. BW may hand it to us and if they do I have no problem congratulating and wishing the Tigers well in Bowling Green.

Exit 188 and go right first light past the Kroger light on to Beechwood road. The school and field is down on right behind Kroger. You cant miss it, you will see the field on your right when you get off the exit.
