Mayfield is better than last year, as well. From watching the NCC/Beechwood game, if you think NCC is in the class with Mayfield, then you may also be in for a rude awakening. Both NCC and Beechwood have nice teams that are fundamentally sound, but, neither team is in the ballpark as far as speed, athleticism and neither are as diverse with the run and pass and quite frankly, neither hit as hard defensively. And before everyone gets on here and starts being critical and defensive, I'm not trying to knock either, just telling it like I see it and just because I feel that way doesn't mean I don't think the Tigers have a shot to win the game, they do. Anything can happen, especially with a 5 hr busride involved, but, imo, if turnovers, penalties, etc are relatively even, then Mayfield wins by 3 scores, maybe more. For Beechwood to win, they're gonna have to play there a+ game, win the turnover and penalty battle and hope that the Cardinals aren't playing there best..Just my opinion..

Last year Mayfield owned the line of scrimmage and we were clearly faster at many and mosts positions, thankfully we return that line and they are bigger, stronger and faster so advantage Mayfield there. QB is a big advantage for Mayfield. RB is advantage BW. I might be wrong but I doubt BW is going to out play our line that has already proven to be better and we are still quicker. Most 1A teams likely are a little intimidated by BW as many are of us but obviously that is not a problem for Mayfield and it could be for BW given the pasts but I doubt it is and should work as motivation in favor of BW but Mayfield for the last 50+ years is use to getting ever teams best shot. Then there is that drive, Mayfield was not ready last night and if they come out like that again I will not be staying to see the end of the game this time due to being rushed to the hospital for chest pains. The Mayfield schedule in my opinion, is the weakest this year I can ever recall and I have been around a pretty good while. The schedule is not all Mayfield's fault as the larger deep west teams were down say Christian Co and the better teams in LO and Murray declined to play is or could not get the dates to work out but it is what it is and it as kept the starters from playing 4 quarters and that could turn into a problem for Mayfield condition wise. At the end of the day I am well aware that BW is capable of taking us down but I expect Mayfield wins

I agree, and have been saying this all season. I heard this from the "horse's mouth" before the season started and was more than a little skeptical early on, but I don't think there is much argument about this anymore. There is no doubt that Beechwood is much improved too, but even without top receiver Higginson possibly not playing, Mayfield gets the job done by 2 td's. 35-21

Just turn left out of the hotel lot to the first stop sign, and right onto Beechwood Road, the next stop sign take a left until you see the school on your left. Best place to park should be the Kroger lot, continue past the school about 300 yards, turn left onto Dixie HWY, then a couple 100 yards turn right into the Expressway Plaza, walk towards the Kroger gas station and to the back gate. The school is just a 3 minute drive with this route.

 

Do NOT, I repeat, Do NOT stay at Hotel USA! The entire area has been trying to shut that place down since the owners bought it from Holiday Inn about 5 or 6 years ago. Unless you like their hourly rate plan.

It's easy for Mayfield to look good when they haven't played anyone.

 

Again, play Beechwood's schedule then talk about how good you are. As far as Mayfield hitting harder and having more team speed than Newcath, you obviously haven't seen them much. Brady Hightchew is one of the best athletes in nky...period. Holy Cross has a receiver that runs a 4.5 40 and Beechwood had no problem with the Indians.

Mayfield is better than they were last year and quite frankly Beechwood is luck they didnt get 50 hung on them last year.

2 td's called back and the dogs called off at the end of the 3rd quarter.

 

From what I have seen is that Beechwood has lost every game this year and last year but the NCC game that wasn't a district game. And they weren't competitive in most of these games where they lost.

Does Beechwood still worry me ? yes.

And I'm sure you've seen Mayfield enough to judge there speed. Of course Higginson not playing is a big blow on both sides of the ball, but, the Cardinals are deep enough to manage without him, if need be. I can't wait myself. Good luck fri night.

Don't really have a prediction on the score, but I do believe that Mayfield pulls it out. However, for any of you in the NKY area this weekend, I would strongly advise you to go watch this team and namely Jonathan Jackson. Special player and worth the price of admission.

I agree with the observation about Hotel USA. Avoid it. The Drawbridge is OK, but a bit run down. If you don't mind driving an additional 10 minutes, I recommend driving toward the airport on I-275 and staying at the Holiday Inn, Mineola Pike.
