That's the issue I see. Lack of discipline is evident any time a coach lets a player act out on the sidelines (even at the NFL level).

I have never ever seen a kid show more disrespect towards his coaches more than he does..I can't believe this behavior has never been nipped in the bud a long long time ago..There is not a college coach in the world that is going to deal with that stuff..

I agree with you Raiderbird, and it is a shame, because he has talent, and his hoops coach and gridiron coach are two guys I like alot and with other players appear to be disciplinarians.

Same things I observed in our games vs. Dixie. Just goes back to lack of discipline by Coach Spritzky to tolerate such nonsense from a player. Maybe he is good in other areas, but in the area of discipline. No way. It's an easy solution - stand on the sidelines for a little bit.

I would think that this has been covered at home but do not know the family. Some dads are a little soft on their "superstars" but have no idea if that is the case here.

Obviuosly your not tuned in to winning football teams and traditions. There is also a family on the field versus off .Coaches ,players,support staff,are one and the other one you are obviously familiar with. Im sorry,once again for the lackkkk offff definitionnnnn......

Parents some times overlook stuff that they should deal with harshly. Seems to happen regularly in these days. Some parents would take corrective matters themselves in regards to such blatantly disrespectful behavior and actually end up helping out the coach and team in the long run.

I think that's great, but it seemed you were questioning the HHS fans who had posted about why they weren't giving the accolades to Dixie, yet you hadn't given any to HHS either. If I read that wrong I apologize.

 

You read way too much into this. HHS was getting plenty of accolades, not more needed from me. I'm a huge fan of their program and always support the team in the state playoffs. At the time of my original post, I saw nothing about the game Dixie just played against them. That's all.

Heard Pike and another player bumped in to one another, word were exchanged, Pike pushed the Highlands player, more words were exchanged, then Pike lost his cool and was ejected.

 

And let's just say that the words being exchanged by one of the players were words that would make you look at your kiddies and say "earmuffs."

Although I think Dale is a great coach, do you really think you can compare the talent that Highlands has with the talent Dixie has? Highlands might have a smaller enrollment but young men go to that school to play football and you can not compare the size of the schools in my opinion. Maybe look at the percentage of kids that play football. Year in and year out Highlands has the most talent in NKY. If you doubt that then just look at how many kids each school can play. Dale said in the paper he plays 16-17 guys on defense and 15 guys on offense. No one has to go both ways. Dixie has no where near the talent to do that. Dixie had at least 6 or 7 guys that have to go both ways. Why becuase they do not have the "TALENT" to play the other kids. It has nothing to do with the facilities. No one is happy with being .500 but complaining about the couch is too easy of an out.

 

I would say that before Dale arrived HHS was a good team that has had success, but there hasnt been a stretch like the one he has had. He hasnt always had the luxury of a two platoon system. Obviously he has groomed this program into what it is today. Winning does this for the program. Kids want to be a part of it. If roles were reversed, HHS would be the same shoes Dixie is in. Kids want to win. They are not playing to be average.
