September 3, 201412 yr Was in Family Video because some fool told me the 5th season of Justified came out in August - nope, December, arrrr. So went looking around and went to the Classics section. Saw the movie the Quick and the Dead. Heard good things about it. Pretty good movie but not sure what makes it a classic. Also rented Platoon. Haven't seen that movie since 1980 something so its time to watch that again. While my memory of that movie is a little fuzzy, I do remember knowing it would become a classic so definitely worth watching again.
September 3, 201412 yr Author Watched Swiss Family Robinson on Netflix Streaming last night. First time I'd watched it since I was ten years old or so. Good movie.
September 3, 201412 yr Turner Classic Movies is like heroin. I feel so much better when watching that I'll never be able to give it up even though my DVR stays at near capacity because of it. Watched "The Nun's Story" starring Audrey Hepburn over the weekend. Really good. Also last week I caught "Lifeboat", the Alfred Hitchcock movie from 1944 about survivors of a ship sunk by a German U-Boat during WWII. It was awesome.
December 5, 201411 yr Author Watched "The Silence Of The Lambs" last night with my wife. She'd never seen it before. She'd been apprehensive because she doesn't like "scary movies". It took a lot of coercing and explaining that it was a suspense/thriller and NOT a "scary" movie...but she ended up watching it. She thought it was very good. It's probably in my top 10 favorites, personally.
