I can't believe this name didn't come up in the Holmes search, but would James "Buddy" Biggs be interested in the Campbell County job? I heard they made a run at him after the Pendleton County 05-06 teams but nothing ever came about it. With him at Ashland currently and more than likely stuck behind Elliott County for a state tournament trip would he consider making a move for himself that fits better with his roots?

Unless CC has some super players in the pipeline Biggs wouldn't come there. He knew what PC had when he was hired there and as soon as they graduated he got out of dodge. IMO

You are totally right on the above statement, the summer of 2006 I believe he would have went to Siberia to get out of Falmouth. I think he thought Ashland was going to be every season state tournament appearance but he got blindsided by the Elliott County group and I just thought maybe he would consider Campbell County. Saying that I agree with what you stated, seems like he chases the talent!

Yes, there are some assistant coaches in the 9th that are more than capable to move on up as a head coach, But 1) do they want to make that move this year? And 2) do they want to go to CCHS?

How about Chad Persinger of Bracken he is a good young one. BTW Maybelle thinks hes cute. She would be a camel then. We'd be going to WalMart a lot then instead of Dollar General. They have a Larosa's close too.

I'm not so sure the parents ran him out of town. Coach Code started mostly seniors this year, they are gone. So why would their complaints, if there were any. carry any clout. I do know that many of the underclassmen parents like Coach Code very much. There is much speculation on here and I'm pretty sure most of it is more opinion than fact. I don't know what went on. Who on here has been to the practices or in the locker room of the Camels. Why did two or three players that would have more than likely helped the Camels this year and last decide not to even tryout? It wasn't a parent issue. I believe Coach Code is a good coach, and will continue to grow and improve as a head coach. Once again I don't know, but could it be that he may have brought some of this on himself as a first time head coach. I'm not knocking Coach Code at all. I believe he is a good man, father, husband, and could someday be a great coach. This could end up being a good thing for Coach Code. If he did make some poor choices, not saying he did, maybe he can reflect on this and improve as a coach. Just saying..........

One, any kid who doesn't try out because "they don't like the coach" or "the coach doesn't like me" etc., then the parent needs to talk to the kid and tell him to either play or stop whining. Two, if there is a legitimate problem with something the coach is doing (besides not playing Johnny of course), the parent needs to speak up loud and clear about what the legitimate problem is.

Odds are they quit because they couldn't handle the type of coaching he did.... The problem is with Campbell County, not Coach Code...

No idea if this is correct or not, but I'd heard similar claims this season as well. Guessing it has to do with Coach Code being a no nonsense coach that demands discipline and a team first attitude, not a "watch me pad my stats" mentality?? I think it was a big change when Code took over at Campbell, and a new sheriff came to town. Not all kids are thick-skinned enough, dedicated enough, or flat out mentally tough enough to play for a disciplinarian (I've seen it first hand), and some chose not to survive the change in culture; while others may have "heard it through the grapevine" and chosen to take the easy road & not even try out?? I do know that his (and those like him) system and methods work (and were working at CC), if allowed the opportunity to instill the work ethic expected in his kids. Sadly the mission was cut short in this case??

That's exactly what I'm talking about, your opinion is that the players that did not play whinned about it. I never heard any of the boys whining, not once. They made their choice and moved on. Their parents never blamed anyone or complained about the coach that I ever heard, and I know them pretty well. The parents I know wanted their children to play. There was not a problem with playing time, or the coach doesn't like me. There was something wrong though, when three of your better players choose not to play. Sometime personalities just clash. Why is it always beyond the scope of reason that there may be underlying problems that are no more than growing pains as a head coach.

Riverdog Chad persinger is an excellent softball coach but boys basketball? I have seen him as an assistant years ago for Dan Fisher at Bracken and that did not go well for him at all.
