With all the problems their cars are having would you still buy one?

 

I have never had a problem with a Toyota or a Honda. I like Honda's but I like Toyota's more. Yes, Yes, Yes, I would buy a Toyota (again and again).

Yes. I think they are actually paying much more attention to saftey and details now then maybe they did before.

Absolutely, how many incidents are related to this recall? Not many, when compared to the number of cars actually sold, its basically non existent

Without a doubt, we had one a couple of years ago and because of their safety design when my wife hit a semi head on she walked away with only scratches. The car collapsed just like it was designed and had it not my wife wouldn't have legs today if she was even alive. It didn't take us 5 minutes to decide to buy another toyota after that wreck either.

Seeing how almost every make/model has had a recall at some point, yes, I would buy one.

 

I work with several Toyotas in our fleet and we have never had a problem out of any of them.

 

FWIW, I don't know if it's hit the news yet, but the Chevy Cobalt just had a major recall as well. 1.3 million cars have a problem that could cause the power steering to fail.

Would have to vote NO. My biggest criteria is resale value when I purchase a car, and Toyota's resale value has really been hurt by all of the safety issues recently. Also heard where State Farm is filing suit to recoup losses they have paid out on claims involving Toyota's unsafe acceleration issues. Things are not good in Toyota land.

Toyota has too long of a line of good service on their vehicles for this accelerator issue to keep me away.

I would absolutely buy one. My wife and I have had a couple, and her family has probably another half dozen over the years. NEVER had a problem.

 

And I'm beginning to wonder about this whole accelerator "issue" anyway. I'm sure it may have started out as a legitimate problem, to which Toyota investigated and instituted proper measures to address the situation.

 

But, what bothers me is the number of people who seem to be coming forward just looking to, in my opinion, get some $$$ out of it. Can't tell you how many times I've read a story about someone who claimed their car suddenly accelerated, and yet when their car was inspected, not only could the techs find nothing wrong...but the brakes weren't even scorched (the way they should be if you're trying to stop such a car!).

Recently purchased a 2010 Lexus. Have had GM and Ford product for over 40 years, this Lexus is far superior to all the Lincolns and Cadillacs we have owned.

I have had my current Toyota for 9 years and, with regular maintainence, it has given me very few problems. Did not have luck like that with my Ford or Chrysler. I can't imagine buyng anything else.

Toyota is the only vehicle I will own.
