I heard today that Patrick Towles is attending some prestigious QB camps this summer to get some exposure with the D-1 coaches.

 

I heard he was going to Ohio State for some 1 day camp this weekend. The more the better. You never know he could get an offer. :idunno:

I agree. I worked the chains during his freshman year at a game and was on the SK sideline. They had a player who was just wearing the o-line out (and the coaches, I might add). It was Lawrence who got them all together and told them they were fine and to keep their focus. Seemed mature for a freshman.

Pike already has offers from UK, Purdue, E. Illinois, Ohio and Toledo without ever starting a varsity game under center. He also has interest from Auburn, Ga. Tech, OK. St. among many others. Pike will be the best QB in Northern KY the next 2 years and may be the best QB in the state over the next two years.

 

Jody Demling says that in addition to Uk, Purdue and EKU have offered according to Coach Tom.

He was referring to your avatar that had Hansel and Simpson on it before you changed it to Lawrence. Chad is a very good high school QB but it will be a LOT different without Simpson and Hansel and some of those other studs they lost on the line. As to offers, Chad will not get any D1 offers in baseball or football unless they come from skfanatic36. But, he is a winner and again, a very good high school QB.

lighten up. SKfan36 is serious in his posts, i was just having fun. VOR, I recant my statement.

He is a talented kid with great genes but dont tell me that being a year or two older than the competition doesnt give you an advantage. I dont care who holds who back but dont tell me that its the same. Pluck a couple kids off Georgetown's football team who are 19 yr old sophs and let them suit up for your HS team and lets see how they standout.

 

But Zeke will never compete in a high school sport at 19. He just turned 17 this month. So there are plenty of 18 year olds he will compete against this year and next and I bet you wouldn't see a problem if he played in Ft. Thomas.

That makes sense then, thanks for clarifying when he turned 17.

 

As far as it being a problem in Ft. Thomas, no it would be an advantage just like it is at Dixie but it wouldnt hide the fact that it would still be an advantage.

 

Clyde, as far as your post I agree to an extent about many kids being a year older but in this case he is more than one year. I know of another NFL former player who did the same thing with his current 7th grade son. He has an April birthday and he just turned 14 last week. Bottom line, I hope it works out for him and we can watch him play on Sundays like we did his father.

Maybe I'm just completely lost here, but how is he more than one year older? :confused: He started school on time and was held back 1 year. He'll turn 19 during his senior year where your standard senior turns 18 during their senior year. I know a few on here have stated they were 17 when they graduated, as was I, however, that meant we had late birthdays for our class. Many of our classmates turned 18 during our senior year, some as early as September.

 

 

As for Pike being mentioned with the top QBs for next year, I can't put him in the top 3 or 4 until I see him in a varsity game. The others mentioned have proven themselves at the varsity level, something Pike hasn't done yet. However, I'm excited to see the kid play next year along with the others mentioned in this thread.
