March 28, 201016 yr Wow, for the first time in my 49 years will my beloved Mountaineers make a trip to the Final Four! This WVU team has been ranked in the top ten all season long, won the Big East Championship, and now beat a very good UK team. WVU strength all season has been it's defense, and tonight I think WVU length got to UK. You're right. WVU was considered to be not nearly big enough to play with UK. After they started lighting up the outside, UK's size advantage was down played. WVU beat UK simply by pure desire and key shooting. UK's achilles' came at the wrong time.
March 28, 201016 yr When we got late in the season the "sexy" argument is that these frosh aren't really frosh anymore. That argument is fine, except when things get tough. These young men are freshman, and by character alone, when things get tough they'll act like freshman. The more talented team lost tonight. That's somewhat tragic, but at the same point, experience comes with a benefit, and UK won't be privy to those advantages, due to the almighty dollar.
March 28, 201016 yr Here's a couple. I can only imagine what some of the Wildcat boards might be like. Can you tell me that the refs didn't play an outcome in this game??? What game did you watch? Big Cuz got murdered everytime he touched the ball. Liggins's tech was a joke! It was a bad officiated game all together. I think it is a shame that refs on all levels don't have to answer questions or be contested. But they definitely decide the outcome of the game. Just look at Big Cuz!
March 28, 201016 yr I'm staying up all night tonight for fear that the sun will not come up in the morning, darn Cats broke my heart.

Just look at Big Cuz! Did the refs cause UK to miss 28 3 pointers? Did the ref's cause UK to make 16 turnovers? Did the ref's cause UK to miss 10+ free throws? What about the 2 over and back calls? Both of them went in UK's favor, and one of those calls was wrong. It was a physical game, one that happens every night in the Big East. They let them play that way and UK didn't adjust to the physicality.
March 28, 201016 yr I'm staying up all night tonight for fear that the sun will not come up in the morning, darn Cats broke my heart. Well, the sun came up! I enjoyed following the Cats this season. It's been a while since I've said that. Sure that was a disappointing loss last night, but after where the program has been the past few seasons , I like where they are now. Overall. it's a great day to be a Wildcat's fan!!
March 28, 201016 yr Kentucky lost to a better team. Some fans should be embarrassed for the way they are acting after this defeat.
March 28, 201016 yr If you are such a DUKE fan , why do you have our ENVY OUR PAST :ohbrother: on your Avatar? I'm a Duke fan, just not when they play UK.

March 28, 201016 yr I'm a Duke fan, just not when they play UK. Im not I still see Laetner stomping Timberlake .:madman::madman: But it has been a long time ago ,I just can't forget it .
March 28, 201016 yr Couch, that would be if I'm lucky. I may have to sleep in the back of my truck, because she will take my keys to the cab of it. You not have a doghouse ,that may be your other option if you make her mad . How long do you have to wait to tease her about the loss ?

It was a bad officiated game all together. I think it is a shame that refs on all levels don't have to answer questions or be contested. But they definitely decide the outcome of the game. Just look at Big Cuz! And the ball off Wall's leg that went into the backcourt that wasn't called a backcourt violation yet clearly was, then Wall comes down in that possession and hits a jumper. So you can clean up that spilled milk you're crying over because it went both ways. Perhaps you should ask the nation's number one recruiter if he ever told the kids in the huddle to stop the ball before it gets laid in the square by a kid who likely wouldn't see the floor for our Wildcats. Jeez, they lost to a team that doesn't shoot it well behind the arc who happened to light it up last night. Officials.......Please!!!:ohbrother:
March 28, 201016 yr Kentucky lost to a better team. Some fans should be embarrassed for the way they are acting after this defeat. I agree that some fans should be embarrassed about how they are acting. Not sure however they lost to a "better" team. Grant it they were last night but overall I think Kentucky was the better team. It was just a matter of Kentucky shooting woes and for the first time this year they let it affect them on the defensive end. That IMO is why they lost.

It was a bad officiated game all together. I think it is a shame that refs on all levels don't have to answer questions or be contested. But they definitely decide the outcome of the game. Just look at Big Cuz! Of course the refs have a role to play, but as posted earlier they didn't cause UK to lose. The refs were horrible against Kansas State in the Xavier game, and I was rooting for X. The refs are generally suspect for every poor early season opponent that ever steps foot in Rupp Arena. They generally make calls in favor of UK.

Jeez, they lost to a team that doesn't shoot it well behind the arc who happened to light it up last night. Officials.......Please!!!:ohbrother: It's never the officials' fault. Wait! From the South Carolina loss They just absolutely fouled the crap out of UK down low. They need to make sure it goes both ways and let UK pound on the other end. I am not the type to whine about fouls it is normally both ways but I agree. Cousins got hammered with nothing called. Is anyone else surprised they called that foul on USC against Cousins under the basket? Could've called about 50 more of those tonight. This is getting a bit ridiculous. They called every bump for USC... Not only do you get the other teams best shot at number 1, your get the stripes too. From the Tennessee loss Game decided by 3 things: - UT's 2-3 matchup zone that UK just didn't figure out today - Interior and transition defense was not present for UK; Vols shot layups all day - Wall's turnover combined with Hopson's 3-pointer in the final minute Bonus points to the officials, as well Well the refs are going to be a common theme in this thread. Teams don't always "win" games teams give them away. UT didn't do that. UK shoots 20 percent from the field for most of the game, ends up 35%. Has a stretch of about 3 minutes where Wall gets all the calls to get them back in the game, they had 6 less fouls than UT and shoot probably 10 more free throws on the ROAD and there is bonus points to the officials. I guess there really are UK fans and then there are basketball fans.:idunno: Wall was fouled a lot more times than the officials called it. I thought the charge call on him at the end(actually pretty much ended the game) was very, very weak. Wall was fouled a lot more times than the officials called it. I thought the charge call on him at the end(actually pretty much ended the game) was very, very weak. It doesn't take the majority of the calls to make it bad...it takes key calls to make it bad. If you can honestly say the officiating was terrific today, then you watched a different game than I watched. Did I think the officiating was terrific today, NO. Did I think the officiating was horrible today, NO I really didn't feel like there were any calls that played too far inton any teams hands. It was pretty even from what I saw on TV. I really think if your trying to blame officiating in this one you might need to take your "blue blockers" off. It has nothing to do with blue blockers. It's just a matter of calling a spade a spade. The game was greatly influenced by the bogus charge call on Cousins almost as soon as the game started. Then the officials helped trigger an 18-0 run that ultimately decided the game. A UT player actually reached up through the cylinder and knocked a John Wall layup out of the basket (not to mention, he was fouled by two players on the same shot) and an obvious goaltend was not called. I guess it was the officials fault that UK went 2-22 from behind the arc too, wasn't it? :idunno: There's no excuse for 2-22, but the officials did play a huge role in the 1st half. Nonetheless, the Cats fought back and tied it up. From there on, the officials had nothing to do with the outcome of the game. A young team on the road in a hostile environment combined with sloppy play and poor officiating makes for a tough start. Add that to horrendous shooting and carelessness for the ball, and Kentucky was lucky to tie it up in the 2nd half. I'd love to play Tennessee again. They've given us two good games, but I don't think they can beat us outside of Knoxville. Well one can argue that the only reason UK won the MSU game is because of some questionable calls down the stretch in that one. So I guess what goes around comes around. UT was called for six more fouls than UK, and shot 10 less free throws than UK. You guys keep holding onto that if you want. Did you watch the game yesterday? The officiating was the worst I've ever seen in the 1st half, on almost any level. Mississippi State blew a 7 point lead with like 3 minutes to go. You can't blame that one on the officials. Varnado got into foul trouble early in the 2nd half with only one questionable call. It doesn't matter how many fouls were actually called. Did you watch the game? Tenn. got away with murder early on. UK did not play well enough to win. Get it Deuce ? The officials were terrible, especially in the 1st half. This is what helped ignite the 18-0 run. This IS what happened. It's not that hard. Look we all know you are happy because UK lost. That's fine too. I don't care what you think. But the officials were still terrible in the 1st half. Just another double standard where some Louisville fans choose to complain about officials in their games and if someone calls them out on it they're just blind haters, but Heaven forbid a UK fan complain about officials ever. I'm starting to figure this whole thing out. Anybody who thinks the officials weren't awful for at least the first half is blind. There was one point where nearly every player on the court paused for a second because they were all so sure a foul had been committed, but the officials didn't call it. The second half was better, but not great. Even with that though, UK had a shot to win and couldn't do it. Miller's losing the ball at the end and the whole team's poor shooting lost the game. You can tell Dodson in particular is frustrated. Did anyone else notice him breaking out the headband for the game, but tossing it when he still couldn't shoot? The officials called the first half about as loose as you could call a game, but I thought they called it the same at both ends. UT took advantage of it by playing very hard, very physical and very aggressively. Kentucky did not respond for much of the game and UT just took it to us. The only calls I really hated in this game were the two fake charges called on the Cats. The one on Cousins early in the game was ridiculous and the one on Wall late was weak, but then again I hate the flop worse than anything in college basketball.:irked:
