March 28, 201016 yr Very good points spindoc, especially on the foul line screen. All year UK has switched off on those screens and for some reason tonight they didn't. There really is not one thing UK did well tonight except rebound. It was just a bad game all around. But most of the flaws we saw tonight have been there all year. Bad half court offense; poor outside shooting and 3 point shooting; poor free throw shooting; too many turnovers. Tonight all those were just a little worse than usual but the defense that we counted on all year failed us also. It was just one of those nights. I agree with Coach Cal that the inexperience showed tonight. They gave away too many possessions tonight making youthful mistakes and their talent couldn't overcome it. It has been a crazy tournament. This game was just another example. After watching that game, I would say UK would win 7 out of 10 versus WVU. But how many games have we seen in this tournament where that 1, 2, or 3 out of ten wins happens. This is shaping up as perhaps the most improbable final four of all time. Great, great season for UK. It could only have been more fun if they won the title.
March 28, 201016 yr I guess the positive view would be we missed 30 3s and 10+ FTs and only lost by 7. Glass half full......
March 28, 201016 yr I love the Wildcats, but I get sick and tired of listening to UK fans run their mouths too. I completely understand everybody hating Kentucky. Me too. With apologies to Dickens, Big Blue fans are the best of fans and they are the worst of fans.

March 28, 201016 yr I think 82% of the posts in this thread have been very understanding and gracious in defeat. There's not much they can say when the Cats lose. It's when the Cats are winning that they are at their worse.
March 28, 201016 yr There's not much they can say when the Cats lose. It's when the Cats are winning that they are at their worse. Oh, I have heard a lot of whining, complaining about officials, etc. after losses. Many of the posts on this thread are "thank yous".
March 28, 201016 yr Oh, I have heard a lot of whining, complaining about officials, etc. after losses. And that just proves my point.
March 28, 201016 yr Why you afraid of sleeping on the COUCH?:thumb: Couch, that would be if I'm lucky. I may have to sleep in the back of my truck, because she will take my keys to the cab of it.
March 28, 201016 yr There's not much they can say when the Cats lose. It's when the Cats are winning that they are at their worse. You could probably say that about any fan base that has a tradition of winning. And it doesn't help if you're surrounded by them.
March 28, 201016 yr Not tonight. Here's a couple. I can only imagine what some of the Wildcat boards might be like. Refs played an outcome in this game, NO DOUBT! Will someone come hold my punching bad for me. I thought that maybe drinking a few more beers would ease the pain, instead it's only fueled the fire. I swear I'm so ticked still I'm about to pull a Tyson and just bite my punching bag.
March 28, 201016 yr Here's a couple. I can only imagine what some of the Wildcat boards might be like. To be fair, Sportsfan's post was more an expression of anger about the loss. Not really a complaint about officiating, or anything bad directed towards another team or member on this board. I agree that some Cats fans can be pretty unbearable after most losses, but tonight I think as a whole we've handled the loss fairly graciously. I'll certainly just miss watching this team play, and want to thank them for all the great moments they gave us this year. It's going to take ALOT for a future UK team to beat this one in my mind.
March 28, 201016 yr The only way UK could lose this game was to beat themselves, and they found about a million ways to do it today. Every team I've seen in the tournament so far has had guys that can knock down open 3's, but not UK (unless it's against a 16 seed). Add unforced turnovers and missed free throws and you end up with a big L for your effort. At least we played like crap and got beat. If we had played a good game and lost it would have bothered me more. But I won't lose any sleep tonight over this effort. We didn't deserve to win. I certainly think the effort was there, youth and poor shooting finally got the Cats at the worst time ever. They had a magical season, it just ended when the well went dry. If these boys stayed together they'd win at least two titles, but we all know that won't happen. Sure, I am relived that happened, but am saddened in that college basketball will be the worse for it. Congrats on a brilliant season.
March 28, 201016 yr You didn't need to be a rocket scientist to know that this UK team could not shoot the 3 with consistency. A high school scout could have figured that out and I am sure Cal knew it too!!!!! Right, and at some point, all the chatter about how it didn't matter, it has come up against Cal again. He has to get some shooters at some point. Even if it's at the expense of losing a freak athlete. Here's to hoping it never happens. UK was one of the most talented teams that I have ever seen, that said, they had some glaring weaknesses, it just happened that they all got exploited at the most inopportune time.
March 28, 201016 yr Let's see if they renew after 3 and then you can talk! They renewed once, that said JJ has long been known as one of the best shooters in all the land.
