I was thinking realignment was in 1998? I do know that in 1996, the 38th district was still BC, PC, Augusta, & Deming.

 

Interesting to see the "Northern Kentucky" point of view concerning the realignment. :thumb: I really do see the region moving more north. I've read and heard a lot of discussion on the topic (i.e. moving Highlands, the Newport schools and one or two more to the 10th while moving Montgomery to the 16th & Clark, Paris, & Bourbon to the 11th). Should that happen, BOK will become more of a 10th region staple. I wouldn't like that personally, but as I said before, would learn to deal with it. And I don't blame the Northern Kentucky teams for wanting it closer. If I were in their shoes, I'd seek the same thing (same is true for those in Winchester & Mt. Sterling).

 

This debate will continue (Fieldhouse vs. Mt. Sterling/Cold Spring), but I do think both sides need to strike a balance between change and tradition. Change will happen, but tradition must be respected to a certain extent.

People like change and in the last 9 years it hasn't happened. 7 out of 9 to Mason Co!

Well even Bart would have to disagree with you on that one... He personally came up to Corey coming out of a time out and said he missed that one. I had a great angle at it, and it indeed was out of the cylinder. It was close for sure, but it was out.

You know it's pretty sad when these 15 to 18 year old kids play their guts out each and every night to entertain us and for some reason people want to play the blame game. And as far as officials go you guys can say what you want but they're human also and sometimes they do make the wrong calls no saying at all that it wasn't goal tending. I just wish some of you people who play the blame game would give the players and officials their due bacause without both of them it would be a very very boring winter!!!!

I seriously doubt an official is going to tell a player with 2 minutes left he missed that one. I have no clue what Lennox said, but Rogers definitely shook his head in agreement.

I had a good angle at it and looked like it was off the rim. The ref had the worst angle to call that because it came off it a line toward him. He was in front of the scorers table near Clarks bench. No way he could judge the depth that the ball came towards him. Papa, Clark made plenty of bad decisions during the game that cost them points. I guess you are jabbing the cardinals again with you're comments about one call shouldn't cost you the game. Maybe it shouldn't but tell that to the Franklin kids and fans. It would have at least been tied.

2. No jab intended toward Clark County at all by saying a superior (according to many) team shouldn't be in a position to have one call decide a game. It's a time-tested axiom. Every game has its share of debatable calls (and according to what I read here, the basket interference call is one of those); it's just my opinion that they're fundamentally different than a blatant missed call at game'e end.

 

D. Yes jab intended toward Clark County for leaving their trophy for the janitor. As I've often heard, win with class and lose with class. In all fairness, however, that's easy for me to say sitting in the stands and not having just lost a heartbreaker.

Yes... but to stay on top in anything, you need both confidence and humility. I believe our team and coaches have both but perhaps some of our fans need a little more of the latter.

Bottom line: 2 great teams, 2 great fan bases and one heck of a game. It is a shame someone has to lose but that is part of the game.

The old adage about how you respond to losing apparently doesn't mean much any longer. I am sure there were a lot of teams in the 10 Region that would have been proud with the second place Ky Walnut in their trophy case.

 

If they did leave it behind intentionally, shame on them. Hopefully it was an oversight.

 

I went to several regional finals last week which means I saw a trophy not accepted, a bunch of nonsense at the BOK and another kid throw an all tourney trophy on the floor and break it. As a huge fan of HS sports, I am disappointed....

 

I think this may be the shot somebody asked about.
