I know for a fact that the MC team trainer washed that jersey today so that it could be returned. I was also told that Fred Hester was taking the trophy to Winchester. I guess these are just other examples of poor administration and sportsmanship. :isurrender:

 

Oh and by the way, it sure was a joy to sit and watch that perfect student section from Clark County. If only everyone could be so wonderful. Oh well, there is always next year and maybe we won't cancel the regular season game and I'll get to go see them at home. :lol:

 

No this is an example of the good adminstration. I myself appreciate the returning of the jersery and the trophy. Having the student section behind the opposing team is not good admistration of a regional tourney. But since many have posted on here that he runs a tight ship, then I am sure he will address this next year and other things that have been brought up.

Let's face it, not switching benches was a poor decision, perhaps even dangerous. Coach's should not be able to make that call in the future. If they do want that bench a buffer zone needs to be established

.

 

I have been attending the 10th region tournament for 40 plus years and I remember when the team benches were in the end zone at the stage end of the fieldhouse. Perhaps someone who maintains the records of the regional tournament drawings can verify but I beleive the benches were moved to the sidelines at the request of a team outside the 39th district. Perhaps a 10th region historian could research and find out which school that might be!

She got her corn right in front of me. We had a nice conversation which included the special recipe for the successful popcorn. We were enjoying the nice lobby breeze which made me eating my :popcorn: so darn good:lol:

Obviously you don't like Bart. Where I was sitting I had a great look at the goaltending call and he got it right. No one has mentioned that call except for you. I have worked with many very good referee's in a bunch of state tournaments over the years and I would go on the floor with Bart any night of the week!

 

I also was in a good spot to see the call and myself and a group of about 10 neutral fans around me felt it was a bad call. I think the only reason others haven't said anything was because no one wanted to sound like they were blaming officiating for the loss, I no that's why I hadn't said anything. And I believe the only reason the call was brought up was because the Mason faithful was complaining about the foul that was called instead of a jump ball.

 

If the student section was being watched that closely, why wasn't anything said when the Rogers kid was trying to get a drink and was getting taunted, waiving things at him and screaming RADIO at him, which I felt was in very poor taste? During both the boys and girls games, I saw student sections from more than one school that went way above what I consider to be appropriate and moral. I quess they learn from their parents though since most don't seem to think these kind of things are a problem. Don't quite think CHEERING SECTIONS is the correct title for these groups, but I could think of several others.:thumb:

These are all very true statements. We knew that this would be the case when the re-alignment took place in 1996 (and later for Scott/Calvary). Understand that Campbell, Brossart, Silver Grove, Scott, and Calvary were assigned to the 10th and did not purposely invade, infiltrate, or petition to be moved to the 10th. Quite the contrary - it happened and we were suddenly no longer 9th Region schools, but now 10th Region schools through no choosing of our own. We were programs without a country, no longer members of the 9th, but not accepted by the 10th. We have been here now since 1996. Some of us have embraced the 10th, have worked hard to be accepted, and strive to be good citizens of the 10th Region. Some have not, and some could care less.

 

I'm very old school on this topic. I think that you should know your place, be respectful, and work hard to be accepted by the old-liners who were there long before you arrived. Moving the 10th Region tournament to Montgomery and then to the BOKC certainly was a break from tradition. Yes, each district is entitled to host it in their district, and the 37th District, with a brand new state of the art facility available, chose to hold it there, with disregard to central location or tradition. The BOKC adventure worked out well, but I don't feel that it served all of the 10th Region, just as having it at Montgomery County certainly doesn't serve all of the 10th Region, which brings the question - When each district decides where to host the region should the question be, "What is best for the entire region???" or What's in it for us???? Everyone like perceived advantages - HCA, limited travel, plush accomodations, and we all know the answer to that question.

 

Were I king of the world (or dictator) I would make a decree that the 10th Region Tournament be held at the Fieldhouse ad infinitum. That certainly wouldn't be a very popular decree outside of Maysville, but one that would serve the entire region best, and preserve tradition.
