A couple of years ago, during the Mason vs. Clark game in Winchester, a GRC Student hit Russ Middleton with a piece of ice while he was shooting a foul shot late in the game. If the Mason student section actually did these things that they are accused of,then it is totally wrong. But if you live in a glass house, you should not cast stones. If they would have put the GRC student section directly behind the Mason bench, I am sure it would have been no different.

I will say one thing, thou. As a Mason fan, if we were considered the visiting team on the scoreboard, then our fan base should have had to sit on the opposite side of the Fieldhouse. I would have had no problem with doing that, especially since I am an old Maysville Bulldog who was used to sitting on that side of the floor, lol.

 

Finally, guys. These are high school students we are talking about. They are going to do immature things. They are kids. What is more immature is us adults arguing over these mundane issues on a blog site. The game is over. Mason won, Clark lost. That is sports. See ya next year. Bring on North Hardin.

Read my second paragraph in the post you that you quoted. I totally agree with you on the seating arrangement. I would have had absolutely no problem with sitting on the opposite side of the Fieldhouse. That is where the visiting team belongs. The home team coaching staff should not have had to make such a decision.

Before I switched over to radio, I worked at (judging by this thread) the "dastardly" Ledger. Punk would call multiple times a week during football season when he'd send in his Picks. Often, it was just to talk about UK, or the Reds, or the local high schools. As soon as I'd answer, he'd say, "This is Punk'n...", and I knew I was in for a good hour-long conversation. I'll second you on the class act notion. The man truly loved to just talk sports.

 

And before the Ledger link spirals out of control, please note that this was -- just like the pep rally snafu of '07 -- not written by a sports writer. I'd just like to have that on the record.

Speaking of which, there was a die hard supporter for GRC that openly talked about an already planned victory celebration for the cards a hour before the game started standing outside of the gym Monday night. This person had no idea who was standing around them when they spoke of this:sssh:

I also posted this idea in the Concessions thread, but thought it might be appropriate here also.

 

I suggest putting the cheerleaders and student sections on either end of the gym. The students sections would be behind the cheerleaders. I understand the stage section would be less desirable than the the other end, but I still believe it would be better than the current situation. (I know the argument that stage isn't used for every game, but for the tournament it should used)

 

You can't do this. Do you really want those two cheering sections next to each other. If you move the cheerleaders without the cheering sections, the first five rows of fans can see nothing.

I don't care much about college ball, but I love that high school basketball. Win ,lose or draw ,how could anything be more exciting than the game Monday night. I've been around a long time and have seen a lot of basketall but would never make a comment about the outcome of a game because it's to uncertain .No one never knows. People say a lot of things they shouldn't, but again that's people.
