You have evidently not read this whole thread, it is a lot more than one fan. MCPAPA shouldn't have made the statements he did before the game about the class of MC fans as they have made a lot of comments running down Clark in this thread. My take on the game was Mason's guards won the game for them with their play. I was sure hoping someone would have a picture of the goaltending call. Good luck to Mason at Rupp.

I would like to see the 3 pointer attempted by Zollo that missed when the score was 55-50 in favor of Clark County late in the game. That seemed to be another pivotal point in the game, or would that be going for the home run when you didn't need it:sssh:

Totally agree... In my original post my point # 2 was SHOT SELECTION.

There are many answers to your questions, most of which have probably been given in some forum at some point in time. But I'll offer a few that come to mind anyway:

 

* 10th region die-hards don't equate Northern Kentucky with the 10th region. I'm not sure how many people have actually publicly verbalized their opinions on this (by publicly verbalized I mean here on BGP), but ever since the arrival of Campbell County, Brossart, & a little later Scott, the old-school 10th region people (of which I am a part) haven't taken to the idea of the region moving further north. And it will be a while (if ever?) before they/we do. I am the first to admit this may be unfair or even wrong, but I do believe it to be reality. I still know people (because I am one) who miss the old 38th district of Bracken, Pendleton, Deming, & Augusta. Same could be said for the district that once contained Mason, St. Pat, Tollesboro, & Fleming. Many don't adapt all that well to change, and holding the tourney @ BOK is just another change they don't want.

 

Those are just my observations.

 

Says here that the 10th is going to keep moving further north in the near future, and us traditionalists are just going to have to live with the fact that half the time the tourney will be @ BOK & the other half at the Fieldhouse.

 

These are all very true statements. We knew that this would be the case when the re-alignment took place in 1996 (and later for Scott/Calvary). Understand that Campbell, Brossart, Silver Grove, Scott, and Calvary were assigned to the 10th and did not purposely invade, infiltrate, or petition to be moved to the 10th. Quite the contrary - it happened and we were suddenly no longer 9th Region schools, but now 10th Region schools through no choosing of our own. We were programs without a country, no longer members of the 9th, but not accepted by the 10th. We have been here now since 1996. Some of us have embraced the 10th, have worked hard to be accepted, and strive to be good citizens of the 10th Region. Some have not, and some could care less.

 

I'm very old school on this topic. I think that you should know your place, be respectful, and work hard to be accepted by the old-liners who were there long before you arrived. Moving the 10th Region tournament to Montgomery and then to the BOKC certainly was a break from tradition. Yes, each district is entitled to host it in their district, and the 37th District, with a brand new state of the art facility available, chose to hold it there, with disregard to central location or tradition. The BOKC adventure worked out well, but I don't feel that it served all of the 10th Region, just as having it at Montgomery County certainly doesn't serve all of the 10th Region, which brings the question - When each district decides where to host the region should the question be, "What is best for the entire region???" or What's in it for us???? Everyone like perceived advantages - HCA, limited travel, plush accomodations, and we all know the answer to that question.

 

Were I king of the world (or dictator) I would make a decree that the 10th Region Tournament be held at the Fieldhouse ad infinitum. That certainly wouldn't be a very popular decree outside of Maysville, but one that would serve the entire region best, and preserve tradition.

Well even Bart would have to disagree with you on that one... He personally came up to Corey coming out of a time out and said he missed that one. I had a great angle at it, and it indeed was out of the cylinder. It was close for sure, but it was out.

Why did Clark not post Daniels up he was guarded by Jordan Gilbert size advantage? Besides it all poorly run tournament and great games interesting mixture.

I had a good angle at it and looked like it was off the rim. The ref had the worst angle to call that because it came off it a line toward him. He was in front of the scorers table near Clarks bench. No way he could judge the depth that the ball came towards him. Papa, Clark made plenty of bad decisions during the game that cost them points. I guess you are jabbing the cardinals again with you're comments about one call shouldn't cost you the game. Maybe it shouldn't but tell that to the Franklin kids and fans. It would have at least been tied.

I was thinking realignment was in 1998? I do know that in 1996, the 38th district was still BC, PC, Augusta, & Deming.

 

Interesting to see the "Northern Kentucky" point of view concerning the realignment. :thumb: I really do see the region moving more north. I've read and heard a lot of discussion on the topic (i.e. moving Highlands, the Newport schools and one or two more to the 10th while moving Montgomery to the 16th & Clark, Paris, & Bourbon to the 11th). Should that happen, BOK will become more of a 10th region staple. I wouldn't like that personally, but as I said before, would learn to deal with it. And I don't blame the Northern Kentucky teams for wanting it closer. If I were in their shoes, I'd seek the same thing (same is true for those in Winchester & Mt. Sterling).

 

This debate will continue (Fieldhouse vs. Mt. Sterling/Cold Spring), but I do think both sides need to strike a balance between change and tradition. Change will happen, but tradition must be respected to a certain extent.

To my knowledge, no and GRC hasn't called about it as well.
