Clark County was so stunned last night by the loss to Mason that a jersey was left behind and their REGIONAL RUNNER-UP TROPHY.

The AD probably does not have time to put it in the trophy case since he did not have time to sell advance tickets. That amazed me!!!!:idunno::idunno::idunno:

D-series and paNDA - love the pics. Keep up the good work. My favorite is the one of Coach O'Hearn about to blow a gasket. My second favorite is the one right above with Neal Pawsett celebrating and the drama queen Zollo in the backgroud trying to get the officials to call a foul.

A few observations from last night...

GRC better learn how to hold onto a lead and close a game out before next year.

SHOT SELECTION.

When every player on your team is a head taller than who they are being guarded by, punch it inside.

I have never, and still don't, like Bart Lennox. He blew the goaltending call. 2 points was huge in that game. Other than that, I believe the game was called about as well and even as you could ask for.

Gilbert and Lang were the heroes. Gilbert made tough shots all night long and we apparently didn't want to guard Lang any.

That being said, the game shouldn't have been that close for it to matter. Every time you thought GRC was about to pull away Mason made a little run to bring it back within striking distance. When you let a well coached team hang around till the end, well you see what happened.

On a neutral court, I think GRC wins 8 out of 10. Great atmosphere last night btw. I would rank it definitely above Montgomery Co. but NKU's facilities are way better and I put the two about even.

Last night was one of those two times Mason wins though. In a one and done scenario at the Fieldhouse, Mason has a shot at beating anybody. They made the plays needed to win and they got it done. Congrats to them!

To GRC, get back to work. Keep improving and give it your best next year. Develop a couple guards along with a few more guys for the bench and we'll be tough again. It will be nice to have Bopper Stenzel back healthy for next year. Hopefully we can all stay healthy and try and make it a special season. :thumb:

Mason Co, good luck at state. Represent the 10th well, I'll be there not necessarily wearing blue  but cheering you on.

True Mason Co makes a few free throws instead of going 13/26. :p:lol:

But I was very worried when GRC went up around 5 or 6, if Mason Co didn't score on those next few times they had the ball GRC may have won.

I forgot to mention that, Mason couldn't but a free throw in the first half!

And for the life of me, don't know why we fouled tied with 1 minute to go. Jaylen must of thought we were down, only explanation. Even that isn't a good one though. :ohbrother:

I was wondering the same thing? Did he foul or was he told to foul I wonder?

The call wasn't made from the bench, I'm 95% sure of that. I just think he panicked and thought we were down and acted on instinct...

Yeah I was very shocked when it happened. I would have taken my chances if I was GRC their D on the inside had been solid all night.

Please, don't include all Mason fans in with one fan who made a classless comment. I am sure you would not want Mason to that to Clark.

Everyone was breaking down during those finals seconds. Was very odd to see how players were breaking apart. The stress. No way he could hear the bench instructions. He looked totally confused after the foul.

I am pretty sure they were told to foul or the player may have misunderstood an instruction. Here is a therory. In the heat of battle, one minute in the fourth qtr and a tie game. Is there any possible way that Clark could have looked at the scoreboard and saw the Vistors hand 4 fouls and thought that was their total. They are always visitors when they come to the fieldhouse. Is this a possibility? I can't believe they would foul in that situation.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

You are at the scorers table right? If so, you were definitely closer than I was so I'll take your word for it but I didn't see the verbal command.

Your theory is very interesting and could possibly be right, we'll probably never know.
