Interesting take. However, based on what I saw of the teams this year (not past performances and not on won-loss records) I think Ryle was better than Trinity (although to be fair, I saw Trinity play early in the year and some believe that Trinity was much better later. They were simply terrible against Cincy X and if they got better, they would have had to get a lot better to be better than Ryle) and Male (not a very good football team this year. Withrow was better than Central. Colerain was no where near the Colerain of past (although I expect that to change this year). And Cinti X was above every one on Manual's schedule. Just my opinion based on my observations.

I've never understood people that said they aren't fans of comparing scores, yet then do so to try and prove their point.

 

But if you want to do the score thing, then how about Cincy X was a 42 point better team than Trinity (actually much better than that. X was winning by 42 at half and completely called off the dogs offensively in the second half and Trinity scored its only points in the second half against the X reserves). Highlands was a 5 point better team than Cincy X. So if you use the score thing, Highlands was at least a 47 point better team than Trinity. Highlands didn't beat Ryle by 47 points in either game. See it works to support my point also. Which is why I based my opinion on what I actually observed.

If Mr. KY FB candidate doesn't go down HHS wins, no doubt. BUT...it's a scrimmage and they are NOT the same as a game. After JC got hurt, Dale and staff went into a "deer in the headlights" state of shock...and then started to tinker with an ad hoc "plan B". Dale liberally substituted on O & D and Male played like it was a state final. Male played well, I give them props, but the HHS line-up didn't even begin to solidify until AFTER the Colerain game. The scrimmage was a success in that it exposed weaknesses that needed to be addressed for the REAL games. Dale adjusted, people stepped up, Birds win another title...case closed! :clap:

 

What was the score when Conner went out?

HHS may be comparable to (or perhaps better) than Montgomery Bell Academy of Nashville, TN that Trinity played early in the season for a few years. I never thought T was as far along as MBA when they played and it showed on the scoreboard. I imagine T will compete versus Highlands. It will be interesting to watch, I'm sure. Beatty used to say that he divided the season into 3 segments of 5 games each (at least he hoped the last segment went 5 games) with the first segment a shaking out process. No doubt he'll learn a lot about his squad from the scrimmage..

Heck, if we can't have fun jerking each other's chain every now and then, this place would be boring. :thumb: All in fun, all in fun.

While I am excited, the fact is that a scrimmage is just that. A scrimmage. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't think either camp should put too much into it. Let's schedule some real games.

People can sugarcoat it all they want, HHS was on a mission that night in Lou to set up their 2008 campaign. What was the score again? I think it was low teens. Lets be careful how much due credit we give Male's defense that night rather how poorly HHS responded to losing their bread and butter. Can't wait until this years Trinity scrimmage not Male's:thumb:

Is Trinity allowed to play that game?

 

Early season games saw the Rocks with a terrible depletion of key personnel, not the least of which was their starting QB. The game LN saw featured a Rock team without 3 starters. Does it work both ways? Or is this a Bluebird exclusive?
