I see at least 3 great years ahead in the Rocks future, based upon the number of very young players we played in 2009.

 

This is what concerns me. Highlands is definately reloading but no way will they be able to compete with the likes of Trinity yr in and yr out. I just hope our guys are ready for such a big challenge. :thumb:20n10

I guess we all now have proof that Highlands and Trinity do talk to each other about scheduling.

If Mr. KY FB candidate doesn't go down HHS wins, no doubt. BUT...it's a scrimmage and they are NOT the same as a game. After JC got hurt, Dale and staff went into a "deer in the headlights" state of shock...and then started to tinker with an ad hoc "plan B". Dale liberally substituted on O & D and Male played like it was a state final. Male played well, I give them props, but the HHS line-up didn't even begin to solidify until AFTER the Colerain game. The scrimmage was a success in that it exposed weaknesses that needed to be addressed for the REAL games. Dale adjusted, people stepped up, Birds win another title...case closed! :clap:

Highlands doesnt prepare for scrimmages like they do regular season games. The game prep is done a couple of days before the scriammge and the opposing team is not scouted out very well. As a former player I can tell you that a lot of times Highlands wins because of coaching. The way Highlands approaches scrimmages is to prepare them for the regular season and playoffs, whether it is trying players out at new positions or running scripted plays to simply practice them. Scrimmages are not always a great indicator to tell how well the teams would play in a regular season game. Each coaching staff has a different approach to scrimmages. I think this is a great idea for these teams to scrimmage eachother, but I wouldn't put a whole lot into who wins the scrimmage.
