February 2, 201016 yr Off the top of my head, Memphis would be my pick for a replacement. Uggh. They have become pitiful in football.

February 2, 201016 yr Id like to see the Big East go back after Miami and Boston College. Neither one of those teams have really excelled football or basketball. The ACC is not much better if at all than the Big East in football other than name recognition. Would definitely help football.
February 2, 201016 yr I think someone from the ACC will bolt to the Big East. Not for basketball per say, but for football. A Big East conference championship = BCS Bowl = Big Money. Clemson, Wake Forest maybe? Just guessing. I would like to see Marshall go, but they are not ready to compete at that level in basketball or football.

I believe their ties are to the Orange bowl.
February 2, 201016 yr I wonder if Temple thinks it would benefit them to make the jump. Their football program reminds me of UCONN's just a few years ago.
February 2, 201016 yr Any chance ND FINALLY joins the Big East with BK now being the coach? Not unless they can work there NBC contract into it.
February 2, 201016 yr Memphis St would be the most likely choice. Zero chance on ND. ECU or UCF are also programs that could make the move if Pitt does bolt...
February 2, 201016 yr I keep thinking UCF, but they haven't made the progression of a USF yet. I doubt Pitt leaves, I really don't see how it benifits them. They will not win in football in the B11, but I guess they'd have an easier time of it in basketball.
February 2, 201016 yr Any chance ND FINALLY joins the Big East with BK now being the coach? I would not think so. Notre Dame has no reason to join a conference. If you are going to join one, the Big East would be the logical choice simply from a competitive standpoint.

Miami has a hard enough time paying for trips to teams in the ACC let alone having to go even farther to play in the Big East again. Why would anyone want to leave another BCS conference for the Big East? It's a garbage football conference if Pitt leaves and a death trap of a basketball conference.
