Pitt is an average football program that hasn't seen real success in 20 years. The fact that they have recruited the "best" over the last 5 years and still don't have a title should give you a hint...

Currently the SEC, ACC, Big 12, C-USA, MAC have league championship games. The PAC-10, Big 10, Big East, MWC, WAC does not. In order for the PAC-10, Big 10, Big East, MWC, WAC to have a team in a BCS bowl game, (cash grab game) they need to have a league championship game, which means those leagues need to add schools or have schools up their program to be eligible for the BCS. That's IMO And I think that makes less than zero sense. The Big East should be forced to "legitimize" itself by adding up to 5 MAC/CUSA programs to "earn" a BCS bid? You don't see the flaws in that logic???

You get so defensive because the poor little ole Bearcats wouldn't have a prayer at making a BCS game in another conference. The "college football world" looks at Pitt as one of the better programs in the Big East. There is no stop, start or rewind button that came into play when Miami, VT and BC left. Losing Pitt only furthers the damage of the perception that the Big East has.
