With the size and passion of Big Blue Nation, there are bound to be some idiots. I wish they didn't claim UK.

This is embarassing. Just pitiful. But someone will lump all us UK fans in with these nutjobs.

That's the one thing I think fans forget sometimes when watching college sports, especially when the teams are very talented. These guys are just kids, and with this team, most are only 19 years old.

The quotes from Wall, Cuz, and Patterson on this subject are upsetting. You can tell that these posts by fans do affect the players.

OK, I am not on Facebook so help me out.

1. Can the players now block those fans from their site?

2. Can other fans respond to the haters and go after the haters on their Facebook pages?

3. The onus is on the true UK fans to overwhelm the player's pages with supporting comments so the players see the true support in Big Blue Nation.

They are stupid and and make "real" UK fans ashamed. JMO.

IMO. the onus is for these UK fans to leave the dang players alone, whether you're being critical or supportive. These guys don't know you, they are not your friends, leave them the heck alone.

There is nothing I hate more about Facebook then when people you don't know add you as their friend....

Only in Kentucky.

Hardly.

I hope it was not UK fans doing this, even though my gut tells me that there are some idiots out there that would behave in this way. The best team and season we have had in years and people bash them for losing one game.

I read through some of the comments and really had a hard time finding any negative ones. I did find 1 or 2, but the overwhelming majority were positive and supportive!

Pretty sad that peoople do this. They don't have to accept their friend request if they don't want those people on their page.

Dont do face book. However, what is the difference getting on message boards like this one and being critical of players and coaches as opposed to doing it there. I cant believe players even bother with these sites knowing that idiots are going to respond like this. Put your self out there and all you do is open yourself up to criticism. Go to class, play ball, and leave the comments alone. Patterson is a JR now, surely he is mature enough to not let this effect him and teach the young guys to blow it off as well.
