January 29, 201016 yr Chris Baily's latest weather blog has my area, Owsley County, getting 10+ inches of snow. I just hope the snow is dry enough to not weight the tree branches down and cause an electrical outage. The heavy, wet snow is what causes the most problems. What time is it suppose to hit?
January 29, 201016 yr Still dry as a bone in Hoptown. It started snowing here about an hour ago. Not a lot of accumulation yet, but a little sticking on the cars. It was ridiculous to close as many schools as they did before anything even happened.

The ice storm of last year has people freaked out and in preparation for the apocalypse. While last year's ice storm was bad, the loss of electricity was what made it so bad. That was a once in a lifetime event that you would think happens 5 times a year by the way people are acting.

I avoided Kroger and hit up a local grocery store to grab dinner last night. It was a nightmare getting around in there.

January 29, 201016 yr No Maybe 1-3 inches My inlaws on the other hand in Jonesville, VA are looking to get around 12-15 inches! Scratch that...Lexington may go into Winter Storm Warning about 4-6 inches!

Just butt-cold, that's all. Jim, you're seeing virga (sp?) which is when the snow is falling, it just isn't reaching the ground because the dewpoint is too low. Basically, it's too cold to snow, lol. Here in a little while, the atmosphere should moisten up a bit and allow that snow to fall to the ground. They're calling for 3-5 or 4-6 inches here in Richmond....All A is tonight as well....hmmmmm, could get interesting.
