Potential Winter Storm Thursday Night to Friday Night

 

A storm system is expected to develop across Texas Thursday and move across the Deep South Thursday night and Friday. Moisture riding over the top of this system will generate moderate snowfall starting Thursday night and continuing into Saturday across our region. The heaviest snows likely will fall in the period from midnight early Friday to Friday evening. The latest forecast calls for snow totals of up to 10 inches possible across parts of South Central Kentucky and the Lake Cumberland areas. Farther north across the Louisville/Lexington corridor, totals above 4 inches are possible. There is still large uncertainty in the exact track of the storm system moving by to our south, and a farther south track would mean less snowfall from the amounts given above. Residents of and visitors to the region should stay tuned to the latest forecast updates on this developing winter storm.

OH NO! That's not this weekend is it? I live in Richmond too and HATE, HATE, HATE when that junk is going on! Makes me want to leave town. I'd rather deal with rush hour traffic in Lexington than with All A traffic in Richmond. Richmond just isn't set up for that much traffic.

 

 

Anyways, from reading blogs and looking at models, Southern KY looks to get hit with something big at the moment, maybe close to a foot. From Berea on up will be a cutoff where we may see 6 inches or so. These storms do often track southerly so it's possible that by Thursday night they'll be saying we're not going to get much, but I hope we see 4+ inches.

Sure I'll only charge $65 dollars a night for my storage building. Now if you want the garage there is a $75 upgrade fee!

I like the snow, but I had hoped winter had already passed. And then yesterday, we got blasted by some heavy snow, but it didn't accumulate to much.

So driving from Memphis to Cincy, through Louisville sounds like its a bad idea on Thursday night huh?

 

I will be leaving Memphis about 5:30 eastern time. Timeline of this storm is not looking good for MJ.

I may have to take you up on that offer! Heard all of the hotels are currently sold out. If it snows the losing teams may just have to stay for an extra day??? Do you have a frequent stay program like Hilton Honors?

I'd like a good snow, but we'll get nothing. If its anything it will probably be ice. I don't like that !
