How about taking your talent to the biggest pond? See if you can work the same magic in a bigger lime light. How about because Male is Male! Just a thought.

 

Ty Scroggins is a very smart guy. Why would he leave Central, where he can pretty much pick and choose his players? At Male they no longer have that luxury. Ask Redmon, this played a role in his leaving. Why battle the Privates if you don't have to? You can schedule them during the regular season where results don't mean as much. As far as the biggest pond, A 3A championship ring is just as pretty as any other.

My experiences with Coach Beatty are limited, but I think I have a pretty good feel for what he is like.

 

First, on the field he is demanding of himself, his coaches and his players. He does not tolerate excuses from himself or anyone else. He is also brutally honest. That honesty leads him to constantly look for ways to do things better. It is a big part of the reason his teams get better as the season goes along. While he is very honest with himself and others he is not mean. I have watched a lot of practices over the years. What I have noticed is that he is very organized. Some may not like his honesty. They would rather have it sugar coated.

 

Off the field he is a little shy. When you get to know him he can be very funny. Watch him with small kids. He is very good with small kids.

 

As far as leaving to prove something somewhere else, I doubt it. Look at the reasons he gave when he came to Trinity. He wanted a chance to run a program his way. He wanted a program based on hard work and discipline where he could put the best players on the field without worrying about the politics. He has that at Trinity. Besides, anyone that has been around Trinity knows that there is nowhere on the face of the good Lord's earth better than Trinity. I got a postcard from heaven last week (not sure if it was real). The return address said 4011 Shelbyville Road, St Mathews, Kentucky.

Very well stated. I think he is a class guy and the consumate coach. Ithink he is tremendous for the kids and genuinely cares for them --on and off the field. He is not for everybody - nor well liked by some - but who among us is? If you find someone like that - I would suggest that in all probablility they be some "very timid soul who does not dare greatly....................." ) or however that quote goes. Or, Mother Theresa.

 

What you see is what you get. Cannot quarrel with his results or program. I am so thankful that T has him -- and I already mourn the day he would ever leave. What he has done is unprecedented in the history of Ky. HS football - correct ? And he ( along with many many others, etc) did it at "our place."

 

In case you still have a question - I like him.

Pete, I heard today at church the same thing for 3 years, so that would be a great fit. Also heard they have had a lot of people applying for the position. Maybe they heard about my kid coming.

Scroggins has some of the best 8th graders coming into the building next year. Central is on everyone list of schools to go to. Scroggins is not going to Male.

Replies like this really make it easier to "let the hate go" too! It is a gang mentality when almost any thread gets turned in to Shamrock Lovefest! The Redman Leaves Male thread is a perfect example, it turns into a bash Bobby thread and even resorts to the Tony Driver allegations. WOW!

Farmer wold be a good fit for Male. But would be worried if I was Farmer.

I believe Doss fired or did not renew the last coach who went looking for a new job.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Coverdale apply. He's been promised the Trinity job for several years. He might be tired of waiting.

 

Just a honest question here...why is Coverdale held in such high regard for such high profile jobs?

 

Not to say that his offenses aren't brilliant and great, but outside the walls of Trinity we saw what happened to him, and one really has to ask the question, who wouldn't have a great offense at Trinity?
