The question will be, which one will walk out of the bar as the new HC at Male.

My experiences with Coach Beatty are limited, but I think I have a pretty good feel for what he is like.

 

First, on the field he is demanding of himself, his coaches and his players. He does not tolerate excuses from himself or anyone else. He is also brutally honest. That honesty leads him to constantly look for ways to do things better. It is a big part of the reason his teams get better as the season goes along. While he is very honest with himself and others he is not mean. I have watched a lot of practices over the years. What I have noticed is that he is very organized. Some may not like his honesty. They would rather have it sugar coated.

 

Off the field he is a little shy. When you get to know him he can be very funny. Watch him with small kids. He is very good with small kids.

 

As far as leaving to prove something somewhere else, I doubt it. Look at the reasons he gave when he came to Trinity. He wanted a chance to run a program his way. He wanted a program based on hard work and discipline where he could put the best players on the field without worrying about the politics. He has that at Trinity. Besides, anyone that has been around Trinity knows that there is nowhere on the face of the good Lord's earth better than Trinity. I got a postcard from heaven last week (not sure if it was real). The return address said 4011 Shelbyville Road, St Mathews, Kentucky.

I had the opportunity to talk to Coach several times...after he got to know you...I found him to have a great personality. He is driven to be a winner. I see his truck in the parking lot early, late and often. Not many guys are like him at the high school level. I got a feeling that he will be at Trinity for a long time...hope so anyway. He knows how to run a program..not just be a coach. There is pressure at Trinity...but he can handle it.

I have a bro-In -law at an East end school who is asissant and they are also at school very late.

I think most coaches are there early and stay late. There might be a few expections, but I would gather that most high school coaches put in as much time as Beatty does at Trinity. Some might put in more because they dont have the support system that Trinity has. Like doing laundry, mowing grass, etc.
