On top of the previous evidence I have provided:

 

As a Trinity supporter and perhaps ex-player (I'm assuming here) you know that all that matters is what you do in the second season (playoffs).

 

Male beat Ballard in the playoffs last year when it mattered, so I ask, how is Ballard a better job right now, given that the last head-to-head result favors Male?

 

1 - the coaching situation is different

2 - the player situation is different

3 - the standards at Male are different

 

I am not saying Male isn't a good job, or that they'll completely disappear, but I would be shocked if they rise up like they did under Red anytime in the next 5-6 years.

That's a hard sell given that Male has been in the Regional Final and Final Four in the past two years. While their path is clearly easier than Ballard's, they are still the most successful public big school, year in and year out in KY over the last 30 years...and while policy may have changed, it takes a lot to knock out old tradition...and no other public school in Louisville, outside of Manual perhaps, has the alumni, tradition, and expectations of Male.

 

Outside of Louisville Central and the Big two, it would be impossible to argue that Male is not the best job in Louisville if your interest is playing for State Championships.

Male has a very nice stadium/track. Male has a better location. Tradition, not really close. I'm sure Ballard has great students/teachers/AD/staff as same as Male. Now that Wilson is gone the edge goes to Male. And Male is like the top 5 in total wins nation wide. And my kid went there.

I agree with W.E. Raider. Male was also the most successful Jefferson County public high school in the 1980's (pre-Redman). Some notable accomplishments during that time:

 

• Competed strongly with Trinity in the 1983 and 1985 playoffs (losing 7-6 and 26-24, respectively to teams that eventually won the 4A title).
  
• Went 3-3 against Redman's Ballard teams, including knocking the highly-ranked 1985 Ballard team out of the playoffs 7-0.
  
• Went 3-1 against Redman's Waggener teams.
  
• Went 5-5 against St X, including 40-0 win in 1986 (X's worst loss since 1950s)
  
• 75-38 record for the decade

AL, If you have a QB, the three best QB coaches in town (Coverdale, Beatty, Brohm) all wear green and white.

At this point with the access to athletes Ballard has, and the barriers Male has. Also, the fact that Jackson is at Ballard, and we don't know who is going to be at Male (though I feel it will be Chris Wolfe). I say we do have indications that they will.

I said if I heard anything from a parent at church I'd comment, they said they have an idea but not sure. When my kid played against PRP they played us very hard and I liked the way their team conducted themselves. Male (Beaumont's team) had hard games against PRP.

 

I told my wife/friends back in 05/06 that I thought Chris Wolf would be a great fit at Male. True story.
