  1. Zuberer = wrong Beatty = wrong Lucas = right Agreed! This all boils down to adults not being able to act as adults.
  2. Seems to be a common theme in this thread.... Bottom line is there is no place for Beatty's actions on Friday night. If he would like to take his business to Saturday's then maybe his antics are justified. My guess is the Trinity administration would never publish the Head Football Coach's job responsibilities as: - Win at all cost. - Go out of your way to humiliate opponents (again called a timeout to do so, point still being missed) We all know that deep down the institution is disgusted at some of his antics, but as long as he's winning.... Its sad to think of the things we are willing to sacrafice to win. Please don't confuse this as whinning, it is merely intended to make yourselves take a step back from the scoreboard and realize what High School football is supposed to be about. The world will turn these kids into selfish, vengeful people soon enough. We don't need to speed up the process.
  3. (to add) I was on the losing end of Trinity’s win last week and had no issue with any play calls or personnel decisions. But what I witnessed last night was an embarrassment to such a great program. From a school that demands such high moral standards from its students I can’t wrap my mind around what lesson Mr. Beatty was attempting to teach his players. I only hope that the institution and its supporters are equally disturbed and will refuse to allow such acts to continue.
  4. I have always believed that the Trinity football program does things the “right” way. They are week in and week out the most prepared football team on the field. This obviously is a direct reflection of superb coaching. From the strenuous offseason workouts, to the early morning chalk talk sessions it is easy to understand why potential students/parents would want to be a part of such tradition. We all play this game with the sole intent to win state championships. This above all else has been the biggest “recruiter” for THS. It has become the mission of both of our local 6A private schools to prove their superiority each and every Friday night. In such tough economic times it is difficult to sell a private education, so it is vital that in every opportunity they show why a private education is “worth it”. But I have witnessed two instances in the past two years that has me asking, what’s the cost? In last year’s regular season matchup between St. X/Manual, we watched a coach with a one score lead risk a win to drive what point home? In a kneel situation with the game on the line you make such a mistake that your own radio crew is astounded. Now this year we watch a coach call a timeout (it sounds like this point is continually being missed) in order to put up 7 more points. Again, to drive what point home and to who?
  5. IT'S OFFICIAL! BIGDAWG is the most uninformative informant on BGP!
  6. I think I've heard this one before.... So a Farmer, a Bruin, and a Wolf walk into a bar....
  7. If you say it really quietly, no one will tell....:sssh: Did this rumor happen to come with a time-line for a decision to be made?
  8. Guess you wouldn't be able to start dropping names yet?:sssh:
  9. Speaking of misinformed.... It would be very beneficial to your arguement if your facts were slightly more accurate. I would like to spend the next few minutes giving you the accurate information, so that you may tell the correct Manual story to your disgruntled Buckeye. The only "activities bus" that is involved with the Manual Football Program, is used on Friday's to carry the team to and from games, which if at home are played down the street at the stadium. Unfortunately, for other schools in our region, they must rely on an "activities bus" to transport less fortunate children who do not have a reasonable means for transportation to and from practice. In regards to the dedicational periods prior to school for "gameplanning"; many public schools must rely on paraprofessional coaches who do not have the luxury of participating in these sessions. So since our coaches have inferior abilities, they decide to meet every Sunday evening for upwards of eight hours with the addition to their Saturday afternoon. Speaking of Saturday's....In our thirteen week season our kids spent approximately 39 hours of their "time" on Saturday's at school. This equates to each Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m - noon. The windstorm is an incident that we can not control. However, it would be beneficial to all KHSAA schools to play by the same rules. I can assure you that in the coming off-season our coaches will attempt to discover a way to "work harder". Unfortunately, for us, there are only so many hours in a week and you can't forget about the law of deminishing returns. I would like to say in closing, that I love playing your schools and I do not want to see a split just for that special year when we worked harder.
